Return???

"Hmmm?" Alex was writing something when he heard a noise from below the Building, It had been a short time since he leveled up to the next Overlord level and he was resting from years of fighting now...

"Damn, who is this." Alex went downstairs, he could use his senses to see who was that that was knocking down the stairs but his dumbass forgot about he had the senses outside of the fighting.

"Who is this." Alex went down and opened the door, it was a sunny day outside and birds were chirping it would give you a very good feeling when he went outside.

"Big Brother Lin..." A towering figure with bulging muscles greeted him.

"Hong Xuanli???!!" Alex's surprise was palpable; it had been an age since he'd seen this younger brother figure. He smiled warmly and ushered him inside, sensing a conversation brewing from the intensity in Hong Xuanli's expression.

"What's troubling you, Hong?" Alex poured tea and settled down.

"Big Brother Lin, do you recall the story about my elder brother?" Hong Xuanli spoke eagerly.

"Hm?" Alex scratched his head, struggling to recall past details, even with his Overlord powers.

"Ah! You mean Zhang, right?" Alex's memory was jogged by Hong Xuanli's mention.

"Yes, Zhang Sanfeng!!!" Hong Xuanli beamed with joy at Alex's recollection.

"Yes, I remember. Didn't you mention his escape or something?" Alex inquired, sipping his tea.

"No, he didn't escape... We believed he had passed on, but... I saw something... I saw Brother Zhang..." Hong Xuanli's voice trembled as if facing a chilling breeze.

Alex raised his eyebrow, the first thing he thought was Hong Xuanli was just hallucinating, he didn't think Old Chang would lie to people like this and say the person was dead when he was not...

"So spirits... Do you think he survived? Was he at Soul Absorbing Level? That is the minimum you have to be to have the ability to survive as a soul." Alex said this, Souil Absorbing Level people would get the ability to survive if somehow their souls were left in the world, not too long but they could indeed survive and probably take over somebody, but if they did that they would forget pretty much everything they knew as they would be connected to a new mind if they took over someone that had immense will their weakened souls would disappear into oblivion if that person was strong and had a will... you needed to be very careful if that person had a strong soul because if that person did have an extremely strong will you would be instantly fused with that will and would disappear immediately, You needed to be careful to choosing your host because that was how dangerous possessing someone, Everyone knew this and the strong people that could unlock their souls, they would wait a long time before choosing their host, and it was better if that host was very strong because you would have a head start on the host and would not need to get extremely strong, but taking over strong person was too hard and not possible, most people would think that souls were evil and expel them with their will, will was extremely powerful power that if you could unlock full potential you would be extremely powerful and you would be able to use extreme power. this was extreme power that the strongest people were chasing but most of them would not be able to use it because it was just too hard to unlock your will, you would become so powerful you would be able to dominate many different people if you did unlock it, and Alex was also someone that knew taking over someone would be hard but it would not be impossible so he didn't think that it was completely unreal that someone would do that Alex knew that this was possible but not likely happening that...

"No... Big Brother Zhang was at Inner Qi level..." Hong Xuanli said this...

"In that case, it's impossible. You can't return to life without unlocking your soul," Alex reasoned.

"But I know what I saw! He stood atop a tree, gazing toward Sect Master Lin's abode, wearing a white attire with a smile..." Hong Xuanli persisted.

"I don't think He would believe me if i said this to him and..." Hong Xuanli said this...

"and the strengthened protection around the sect would annihilate it in a second, i think you are just tripping around Hong Xuanli, you need to go rest go to brothels get a girlfriend, and live your life," Alex said this and stood up, he didn't want to investigate ghosts now, he was still creating plans for his portal to Earth.

"I see, i will do... but please this one time Big Brother Li, help me out here, i think i will get an Inner Demon if i cultivate now, i just need to confirm it was a hallucination." Hong Xuanli stood up.

"Where are we..." Hong Xuanli's words trailed off as both soared into the sky.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

--

Three Hours Later.

"This is the spot?" Alex inquired upon reaching the Sect Master's Building.

"Yes, this tree," Hong Xuanli pointed to Tree A.

"Strange..." Alex furrowed his brow, extending his senses to comprehend Hong Xuanli's claims.

"I detect nothing. No lingering soul," Alex reported.

"Could you check the sky?" Hong Xuanli asked.

"You..." Alex ascended, surveying the entire sect with his senses, which initially alarmed them but quickly subsided as the protection confirmed no imminent threat.

"No anomalies. I only sense departing souls, nothing else," Alex stated upon descent.

"Please inspect the Sect Master Building," Hong Xuanli requested.

Sighing, Alex rose again, but his search yielded nothing.

"There's nothing here," Alex concluded.

"Oh..." Hong Xuanli's disappointment shifted into a relieved smile.

"Let's depart," Alex decided, carrying Hong Xuanli as they flew away.

"Master..." Botoz, perched on Alex's shoulder, appeared joyous, having fulfilled Alex's request. "Did you check permissions?"
