Forgotten sea and Contract

Olivia looked above the water's surface. There, the Lion-headed monster stood, looking in their direction. Its eyes flashed with excitement and anger.

"It's already getting dark. We must reach a safe zone before nightfall," she said, pulling his hand to urge him to move away.

Asher kept his gaze on the Lion-headed monster. That beast was strange; he could sense its greed towards them. However, it never attempted to attack them by entering the water.

"Why is that?" he wondered, but before he could voice his question, Olivia pulled him to swim. He glanced back at the Lion-headed monster over his shoulder.

The beast was still following them with hungry eyes, but it didn't make any move to attack. It was as though some unknown shackles prevented it from doing so.

"Why isn't it attacking us?" Asher finally decided to ask about this. After all, Olivia thought he was just an abandoned child. Who would explain such things to an abandoned child?
