DASH

Honk! Honk!

The sound of a car horn pulled me out of my thoughts and I sighed deeply.

"Stop it!" Angelo hissed through our mind link.

"Stop what?" I decided to act damn.

Pull over now." He ordered.

"Are you commanding your alpha." I asked him.

"Yes, now fucking pull overall." He hissed and I did as told not wanting him to keep pestering me on it. He got out of his

car that was just behind mine and walked over to me.

"Move to the passenger seat."

"No why." I protested.

"I'm driving now hurry up if we going to get to the pack in time." He retorted clearly not intending to give up.

"What of your car." I frowned.

"One of the guards is driving now move."

"Whatever." I moved to the passenger’s seat and he got in.

"Really." He scoffed at the song playing as soon as he closed the door.

"Don't judge me." I hissed.

"You are such a sissy, forget about her already, she left the pack, you may never even see her again."

"I pray never to set my eyes on her ever." I mumbled lowly.

“Enough of the gloomy mood.” He said after a few minutes of silence. “We are not going to let your past ruin a happy

day.”

Saying that, he connected his phone to the AUX and soon enough POETIC JUSTICE by Kendrick Lamar boomed through the speakers.

---

Every second, every minute, man, I swear man that she can get it

Say, if you a bad bitch, put your hands in the air

Hands up high, hands up high

---

“Sing along!” Angelo nudged me with his elbow when he noticed I was not singing along and instead staring out into space.

“No, I’m not in the mood.” I retorted making him roll his eyes.

After our little exchange I expected him to give up but no, he kept pocking me, I tried glaring and hitting him but did nothing but fuel him up, he kept at it until I found myself singing along.

---

I recognize your fragrance, hol’ up, you ain’t never gotta say shit,

Uh

And I know your taste is a little bit, mmm, high maintenance, uh

Everybody else basic, you live life on an everyday basis

With poetic justice, poetic justice

If I told you that a flower bloomed in a dark room, would you

trust it?

I mean, I write poems in these songs dedicated to you when

You’re in the mood for empathy, there’s blood in my pen

---

"You know I hate you sometimes." I laughed as the song finished.

"I love you too buddy." Angelo wiggled his eyebrows at me. “You know you love me too.”

"Shut up." I shoved him playfully.

"What would you ever do in this life without me-"

"I want you out of my head!” I sang GOODBYES by Post Malone on top of my voice so as to disrupt his train of thought that was specifically meant to make me recognize what an amazing friend he was to me.

---

I want you out of my bed during the night

there's no way I can save you

Cause I need to be saved too-

I'm not good at goodbyes

Goodbyes

Goodbyes

Goodbyes

---

"Jerk." He pouted and turned up the volume.

We sang along to every song that played till we reached the pack house like crazy maniacs.

"Son." My father flashed a smile while giving me a quick hug.

"Father." I greeted him before turning to my stepmother. "Elizabeth, I mean Luna."

"Dash." She pulled me into her arms for a hug.

"Brother." Ericson nodded his head at me.

"Brother." I returned his greeting, "Where's the drama queen?" I asked looking around for my little sister and not seeing her.

"Dash!" She came running and jumped on me with so much force we fell to the ground.

"Geez Penelope." I laughed holding her in my arms.

"I missed you so much." She hugged me and I hugged her back.

"Is it just me or does she smell like her?" Caesar, my wolf, asked sniffing Penelope and picking up an oddly familiar scent.

"It can't be, she left long ago." I replied not even wanting to entertain the thought of her being back.

"If you say so." He said and I blocked him out of my head.

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I missed your crazy ass too." I hugged her tightly.

"Alright that’s enough, both of you get off the floor." My father told us with a scowl of disapproval on his face.

"Oh yes, right." We said at the same time and chuckled getting up.

"Wow you look pretty." I hugged her again after she twirled around.

"Thank you." She smiled. "I missed you so much Dash." She hugged me tighter.

"I know, you can't live without me." I smirked.

"Someone's getting too cocky." she scrunched her nose making me chuckle.

"Let's go inside, everyone's waiting." Father spoke.

"OK but first I need a shower." I told him. "I'll be with you in 30 minutes" I told them and left before hearing their

response which would without a doubt be one of disapproval.

After my shower, I dressed up and went down to the pack hall only to find Angelo and Penelope making out against a wall.

"Get off my baby sister you idiot." I pulled him away from her causing him to practically growl at me. "Are you fucking growling at me Angelo?" I hissed taking Penelope's hand.

"Mine!" He growled grabbing her to his chest.

"What the fuck." I muttered under my breath.

"She is mine." He grumbled and they walked off.

"The pack is waiting." Ericson told me and I nodded. Side by side, we walked into the hall then the stage and everyone bowed.

"Rise." Father commanded and they did.

"Today we are gathered here to celebrate the return of our soon to be alpha and beta." He started "My son Dash and godson Angelo." and everyone cheered.

"Now Dash has a few things to say."

"No, I don't." I muttered under my breath.

"Dash everyone." Completely disregarding my decline, he gave me the mic as people cheered.

"Thank you all for coming to this celebration today.” I started. “Let’s have fun." I spoke and everyone cheered as the music blasted through the speakers.

"I'm off to bed." I told my father and brother after getting off the stage.

"What why, what of the party" Ericson argued. “All this was prepared just for you.”

"I'm too exhausted for this, I'm off goodnight." and with that I left the hall heading straight for my room ignoring their calls.
