Rosalie

My head was pounding, I felt like it was going to split into two at any given moment. Groaning I peeled the comforter off my body and walked to the bathroom where I washed my face. Staring at my reflection in the mirror, I traced the bags around my swollen eyes.

Taking a quick shower and getting dressed, I walked out of the room and when to the kitchen. As soon as I opened the door, Cage jumped off a stool and run to hug me.

"Mummy." He hugged me tightly.

"My love." I smiled picking him up. “Good morning.”

"Your eyes are swollen." He pointed out after pulling his face away from my chest to get a clear of my face. “I don’t like seeing you cry.”

"I know my love, and I'm sorry, I’m sorry for crying and making you sad in the process." I kissed his forehead.

He looked up and studied me carefully.

"Why were you crying, was it because of me?" His small lips curved into a deep frown at the question.

"Goodness no." I shook my head vigorously. “You are never the reason I cry.”

"Are you sure?" He asked and I nodded yes.

"A gazillion percent sure." I pecked his cheek.

"Sit, let me get you something to eat I bet you are hungry" I told him and walked to the fridge where I moved the stool he had been standing on for him to be able to reach it. Taking out the ingredients I would need for breakfast, for the both of us, with Cage’s help, I begun to cook. He could never really do a lot around the kitchen but he enjoyed being around and doing the smallest of things such as beating eggs because they made him happy.

Dash

It had been two days since I last saw her and I haven't been able to leave my room or eat anything, just the thought of her being in my pack disturbs me and her being my mate and Luna of my pack made it far worse. I thought I had gotten over the anger and every feeling that came with Rosalie Blake but I was wrong, very wrong.

"Dash come out of there!" My father yelled angrily while banging his fist against the locked door. "Stop acting like a fucking child, you are an alpha for fuck’s sake!" He added.

"Dad stops talking to him like that, he'll never come out at this rate!" Penelope yelled agitated.

"Well I'm tired of him acting like a spoilt child-" he retorted.

Tuning everyone’s voices out I tried to focus my thoughts on anything that was not in connection with her, I needed to channel my energy towards anything aside from my disastrous personal life. The second my bottom eye lids came into contact with the top one, a pair of grey orbs flashed through my head, the same eyes I had seen from the boy that kept escaping me.

'That boy' I whispered to myself and smiled achieving my new goal, I had find something to focus my energy on and I was not going to rest until I had attained my aim.

I was done mopping over some stupid conniving traitor who is probably was not thinking about me as much as I was her, thoughts of her had been living rent free on my mind and that was something I was no longer going to tolerate, I was no longer the boy she had betrayed, I was now a fully grown man, an alpha and as such, I needed to act like one, my father was right, his delivery was pathetic but he was right, I was no longer a child but an adult and I needed to start acting like it, I needed to start acting like the strong reliable leader people had grown to know and love.

"I need a shower." I mumbled to myself getting up from the desk, walked into the shower and stripped off every article of clothing that was on my body before stepping under the showerhead and allowing the water run down my body. I needed to leave my room, if it were up to me, I wouldn’t have left the room, but being an alpha, that was not a luxury I enjoyed.

Finally, after a day of raking my brain for the safest and best way I could catch the boy that has been bothering my subconscious since I his eyes met with mine, I had come up with the perfect plan. I didn’t know why I had the urge to capture and talk to him. It was unexplainable and I had come to a conclusion that the only reason I was so bothered was because I needed to make sure my pack was not under any danger, for all I knew he could have been a spy sent by rival packs.

I opened the door to my room and stepped out, completely ignoring the people that had made it their mission to stand at my door every single morning, I made my way down the stairs to the front door.

"Dash, come on bro." Angelo pleaded as him, Penelope, Shaun, and Charlie trailed behind me like lost puppies.

"All of you stop following me and you better not cross my path or it will be the end of you." I commanded in my alpha voice and walked away.

I was over wallowing over Rosalie but I was not over the fact that my own friends, people I considered to basically be my family had lied to me since I got back. It was a stab in the heart considering they were fully aware of my feelings towards my ex-girlfriend, a heads up would have been great.

"Alpha where were you??" One of the kids asked excitedly.

"Handling some urgent business." I replied trying to be as nice as I most possibly could. It was clear I was irritated and the slightest little thing or questions were putting me on the edge, I was a ticking bomb waiting to explode if you asked me.

“Pack business or Alpha business?” another quizzed.

“They are both the same thing.” Angelo’s niece rolled her eyes at her friend and I chuckled.

"10 laps around the field." I instructed.

"But why." She pouted.

"Because I'm alpha and you are still on punishment now do as told or I'll extend your punishment." I ordered and everyone started running around the field.

It's almost been an hour and I couldn't spot that kid and that made me feel disappointed.

'Why the fucking hell are you feeling disappointed' I scolded myself mentally not knowing why I cared so damn much.

"You all can go back inside." I told the kids and they let out breaths of relief before running to the pack house.

I was about to also go inside when I heard a scream coming from the woods, I rushed there and there he was, the little boy, I've been trying so hard to catch but can't seem to, I finally had him but his leg was caught in a bear trap.

"Please remove it, it hurt." He sobbed looking at the bear trap holding his slightly injured bleeding leg and my heart melted.

"I'm so sorry, are you ok?" The words came out before I could even stop them making me curse under my breath. I removed his leg from the trap which of course I had not set, my trap was not at all harmful.

"Sit here." I put him down and offered to clean his wound but he refused. "You can relax, I won't hurt you." I offered him a small yet warm smile that seemed to make him slightly more comfortable because he took a seat of the huge rock behind him.

"Thank you." the boy spoke in barely a whispered as I cleaned the wound that turned out not being as bad and deep as I had anticipated.

"You welcome, I'm Dash." I introduced myself.

"Cage." He responded with a small smile.
