"Daddy?" Cage's small voice called snapping me out of my misery.

"Hmm," I responded turning to look at my son standing near the wide open door.

"I’ve been calling you.” He mumbled closing the door behind him, and when he got close enough, he asked. “Are you OK?"

"Yeah." I nodded. I had been so consumed with all the mixed emotions I was experiencing I could barely hear anything, let alone my son.

"Then why are your eyes looking red?" He frowned tilting his head to the side as though to get a better look at me.

"I'm just tired, I've had a really long day." I sighed truthfully. It had been a long day and I was so glad it had finally come to an end.

"Alpha stuff?" He quizzed and I smiled lifting him to sit on my lap.

"Yeah." I nodded. "Have you had dinner yet?"

"No." He shook his head.

"Why? Did no one give you anything to eat?"
