Chapter Seventeen: Discharged

The sun was so harsh that it could tear up someone's skin. The roads were quite busy as usual not minding the sun and its unfriendliness towards the earth.

Alice drove straight back to the hospital, she for some time thought that she had forgotten something but didn't know what that was so she only proceeded with her push to the hospital. Getting there she went straight to her mom's ward, opened the portico, and entered only to find the place empty. She couldn't get what was going on, so she rushed out and went consecutive to the place where one of the nurses stood" Hello, please do you know about the woman that was in this ward?" she pointed at the ward door, the nurse shook her head to the left and right in response to her question. She went straight to the doctor's office only to discover that her mom had been discharged by some kind of people.

"But why did you let them take my mom?"She couldn't help but yell at the doctor.

"She agreed to go with them. At first, I didn't have in mind to release her knowing the fact that she needs rest, for her to be properly taken care of she needs to be within our reach and premise, but she willingly asked for a discharge and only left a note for you" The doctor explained and handed over the sheet of paper to Alice from her mom.

Alice took the note from him and left his office. She went to a corner and speedy unraped the paper.

"Alice honey, sorry I couldn't wait for you to get back I had an emergency to attend to so I left back to the Fax house. Please make sure you take good care of yourself like you promised I sure will miss you but it's fine it's just a matter of time. I will see you soon baby." Alice's eyes were so fixed on the letters that she didn't even notice the fact that she was already in tears. She got herself immediately and left the hospital to her house. She drove her car so lazily to avoid an accident knowing the fact that she wasn't in her right state of mind.

Theo was home waiting for Alice to get back he dashed out of the house only at the sound of Alice's car approaching the premises. He stood and waited for Alice to park and then went over to her" Alice are you OK? Am so sorry I tried to call you but your mom refused" Theo elucidated himself to Alice.

"It's fine Theo, Let's go inside" Alice walked past Theo gently into the house She got to her apartment opened the portico entered, and then went to her room.

Alice lay down for a few minutes only with the thoughts of her mom which had consumed her mind. Just still in the process of her thinking, she slept off.

Valentino was already making plans on how they would dress for their engagement party he didn't like what he was doing but he was left with no other option than to accept it. At some point, he remembered Alice and once again the memories behind the kiss at his office came back rushing into his head, he only couldn't comprehend why he kept on thinking of this it's not like he had never kissed a lady before but anyways he felt like the only way to solve this, is for him to get himself tangled again with girls rationale he couldn't alleviate the orge he felt in him anytime he remembers the kiss.

"Sir the suits are here" A servant tapped at his back cutting him off his thoughts only to let him know that the suit delivery men were there. He followed the servant immediately to the room they were in.

Minutes passed and minutes had turned into hours before they could finish with the selection. Valentino was already tired so he asked everyone to let him get a quick nap before they could proceed. He went to his room, lay on his bed with his eyes tightly covered, and swam deep into the oceans of his dreams.

The early dawn breeze was so cold but it felt so nice to breathe into it. Valentino had woken up early today to make sure not to skip any of his office work even though it was his engagement party he knew he had to chill a bit but No "After all I never wanted this party" he said to himself.

He took a shower, put on a T-shirt and a trouser, and then left for his office where he was just until the morning alarm had woken most of his servants. The day brightened and the sky was beautifully on display. Soon he got information that his fiance was there in his living room. Only at the mention of his fiance the usual got its way into his head he thought for a few minutes but shook them off immediately as well and excused himself down the stairs to meet Alice.

Alice was woken up by the aroma of the delicacy Theo was in the kitchen preparing. She went into her bathroom stared at herself in the mirror, admired her beauty before taking a shower, and wore a dress that showed her back so plainly, and came out of her room.

"Good morning Theo" she announced and took a sit in the dining. Theo served her and they had a short conversation about where she was headed before she rushed out. Getting to Valentino's house, she parked her car at her normal spot before moving into the house. She noticed how calm everyone was, she didn't know why it was like that All she knew was that it felt so comforting to live in a house like this. One of the servants came over to greet her afterward She asked her to go tell Valentino that she was there, While she sat and waited for Valentino, he wasn't coming forth, so she settled on going to meet him instead. She went up the stairs, located his office, and just as soon as she opened the portico to his office Valentino was already at the wicket so they came to face with each other.
