Kinla

It is early morning in the palace of the village head after about 40 days and James had already fully recovered from his injuries and was fit. He then went to take a walk around the palace and while walking, he met the village head Kinla who was just wearing a cloth on his waist picking his tooth. He greeted the village head who blessed him and asked about his wellbeing and James told him that he was fine and well.

"I heard about you. You must be really brave to have gone to fight those archers on your own. You are lucky that my hunters came to help.

"They hurt my friends and I had to make them pay." James said while clenching his fists.

" You need to learn how to control your anger and be more logical. You left the main battlefield and left only your friend and two defenseless girls to about 20 men or so just because you were angry. Being controlled by anger does not make you stronger but it rather exposes your biggest weaknesses to your opponents."

The village head then offered to teach James on combat and James agreed and they went inside together.

While Cletus was eating some food, the daughter of the village head whose name was Ashra came in and greeted him and offered him a drink which he accepted and she sat beside him and began to talk to him and then she asked him about his country and their way of life and then he told them about Chanchan and their history and mythology talking about gods and spirits and creatures while adding some jokes in-between and then told her about how they got there and she was very concerned and asked him if his country can ever come back. He told her that that is what the survivors are working towards. She then held his hands and drew closer to him and rested her head on his shoulders which he allowed and then Dorcas passed them by and just walked away hurriedly.

In the Dead desert at night, the soldiers were sharpening their swords and singing folk songs while some others were just discussing. Domnic then enters the cave with some men with game that they all caught. It was a desert deer and everyone were excited because this was the biggest food they had ever gotten since they got there.

Some of the soldiers then made a fire and others prepared water to boil the meat and then they played pipes and sang happily.

As they were waiting for the food to get done, a soldier who was the watchman came down from his post and ran to Domnic and Marcus who were drinking some old wine discussing about the journey to Fadian to gather allies.

"What is the issue? Why did you leave your post?" Marcus barked.

" The snake soldiers are approaching!" The man replied with urgency.

" Oh no not again. How did they know where we were." Domnic said.

Immediately, Marcus started barking out orders and all the soldiers started moving and some stayed at the top to attack from the top while some his to create a surprise attack. Marcus and Domnic then moved deeper into the cave to hide and wait for them to come.

When the snake soldiers came to the mouth of the cave, they saw that everywhere was silent and immediately, Benard knew that there was a problem and sent some of his men to go into the cave as distraction. As they got in, the Chanchanian soldiers saw them and drew their swords and the archers took their arrows out and attacked the men in the cave and Benard

seeing that the Chanchanian soldiers were out, brought out more men and they went into the cage and then they overpowered the Chanchanian army very quickly and they got deeper into the cave.

Domnic and Marcus were trying to move away from the cave to the desert but the Snake soldiers kept following them and they had to fight them off but at this time, Domnic was already very tired and had been hit by archers and could not fight again and Marcus then took him into a hiding spot.

"I don't think I will survive this. I'm weak already and I need you to stay alive. Domnic said weakly.

"What do you mean brother? You are a soldier and we keep fighting and you are not going to leave yet and we will leave this place together. He said with faith.

"Don't decieve yourself i can't make it."

" Don't say that again."

" Take this and give it to my son James he will need it." He said as he removed his black bracelet and handed his sword to Marcus and immediately he gave him, he died while smiling. Marcus then waited for the Snake soldiers to leave and then took Domnic's body to Derbias for a proper burial.
