Upcoming Date

It's been a few weeks already ever since I joined the Builder Faction. All things go well as I get a cozy little place to sleep and enough money to live in this Out of Boundary City.

My relationships with all of the residents at the Builder Faction base have improved, not by much but at least I could call all of them friends already.

Besides Kain that is, he doesn't talk at all to me. Well, he did talk but it was just a simple conversation like asking whether there was food left or trying to ask the others were.

I guess Kain's personality is just like what all of them said it was. A total loner that doesn't want anyone else to invade his space. I understand as I could say that I do not wish others to interfere when I play my games.

The only tough thing that I was handling was to deliver the news to Erina. It wasn't supposed to be that tough of a job. All that I needed to do was simply tell her that I already joined the Builder Faction and thank her for all of the things she had done for me ever since I came up to this place.

Yet she ain't having it at all. Like she refuses to believe me at first until I show her the proof that I am indeed part of the Builder Faction, by showing Erina my keycards.

But after showing her that, things got more complicated somehow.

Erina started to get mad at me for some unknown reason. But I could probably guess that she wanted me to join her faction instead. I did utter my apology to her at that time yet she simply refused to forgive me.

Like I don't understand what or why she refuses. In my head, it's my choice to choose what faction I want to be in. But because I do not want her to hate me or things like that, I say that I would do anything for her to forgive me.

And that's how I ended up going along with her to the merchant district to see some stuff on the weekday. As she said she wanted to buy something there. I could probably sense that Erina would want me to use my credits to buy stuff.

However, I have no other choice but to accept that as long as we can remain friends and she does not hate me.

"Hey! Eizo! Could you lend me a hand here, as I need you to carry some stuff for me?" Kaido said that out loud and it snapped my thoughts about my upcoming weekday plan.

"Okay! Coming as soon I finish putting these wood planks down." I reply.

My job isn't that hard, it's tough and uses a lot of strength and stamina. But it was tolerable at least for me. Plus from the day I started working for the Builder Faction, I have yet to see any of the Deletion Monster appear or the core that Kaido mentioned before.

As soon as I finished putting down the wooden planks, I rushed to help Kaido with carrying the stuff he needed to be brought into the development area.

While bringing the stuff Kaido needs, I have a chance to glance over the construction site again. It has been several weeks already, and the development area has gotten better in comparison to its initial state. I mean we did clear all the rubbles and some structure has been built here and there.

Not to mention that a few people from the Administrative Faction have come over to see the development, as Kaido told us. They are not here to observe, instead they are here to give a small tip to our faction.

The Administrative Faction and the Builder Faction are not as hostile as we have expected. Instead, they have a decent relationship with each other.

After finishing helping Kaido with his task, I ask him why he doesn't just summon Zarda the lizardman to help to carry all of this stuff instead.

As I remember the lizardman named Zarda was also working with Kaido. Like isn't that supposed to be his job, like all of the heavy lifting stuff, I know I shouldn't complain much as I am still working under Kaido. But having Zarda is a good thing as it could help us finish our job much faster.

At least that's how I see Kaido using his familiar.

"Well, he is doing another task. I have assigned him to do some work." Kaido answered.

"Oh, I see."

"What's with the disappointed look?"

"Ah, nothing. It's just that I thought he would help you carry this stuff."

"I'm afraid that isn't possible, as he has another job to do. Plus it's good for us to carry this stuff so that we can improve our strength, right? So don't worry about it." Kaido replied and I could see his smile.

I guess it was a bad move of mine to complain or expect too much. But I couldn't help it, as the task has been a bit tough and exhausting, especially when we need to carry tons of this stuff around the area.

"Yeah, you are right," I reply with a small smile on my face.

"Alright, then let's take a break first and eat some snacks," Kaido said.

With that being said, Kaido then summoned Eleifa as she brought out the food that she already made, and we ate.

"By the way, how's the development with the development?" I ask while chewing the food in my mouth.

"Good. At the current rate, we might be able to finish this project in 2 or 3 months. If luck is on our side." Kaido said that.

I understand what Kaido meant by luck. If only things continue being like this, peaceful without any of those deletion monsters appearing at all. Because if the deletion monsters do appear, it surely going to make our efforts here go to waste.

As the area would surely get destroy and there would be a lot more works to be done. Meaning that it's going to take a lot more time for this place to be a proper part of the Out of Boundary City.

"I hope that as well, for lady lucky to always be on our side." This made me curious so I decided to ask another question to Kaido, about how many times the area has been attacked before.

Which Kaido replied with a lot.

"Happens a lot of times, and it's surprising to see that it's peaceful for a week already. As that thing would usually appear once a week or so." Kaido said that.

"I guess we have been really lucky then," I said that with a smile.

With that being said, we continued eating our food until Kaido suddenly spoke.

"So, how's thing going with that girl from the adventurer faction? Erina, isn't that her name? Like she still mad at you or not?" Kaido asked.

"I guess she is still upset for me to join this faction and not the adventurer faction. But she is not that hostile towards me." I said that and took a small sip of water.

"Well, it can't be helped right? As the faction that you choose does matter a lot, not just the salary and the benefits but also how you feel about the job entirely." Kaido said, "Well, at least you tried to apologize to her and with that you got this date going on right?"

I did tell everything to Kaido before about Erina as I thought that he would help me regarding it. Though not much help is being received from him, I appreciate that he still listens to what problem I am having.

"Yeah but one thing you got is wrong, it's not a date...yet," I said.

"No matter how you look at it, it's a date nonetheless. Like it's going to be only two of you, right? So that's a date. A simple date, that's what I think about." Kaido said.

Kaido and the others already knew that I would be meeting Erina during the weekend, so they have been teasing me about it every single time we had a conversation.

Like really, I can't see it as a date at all. Because I know for a fact that Erina is just going to make me spend money on her stuff. Plus it's for her to forgive me, so yeah, no date involved.

"Anyway, it's not a date. So there's nothing to be excited about," I said.

"Come on, don't be like that. Be more positive about it, and don't forget to have some fun okay?" He paused for a bit as he said, "Well, anyway. Let's just hope that things will turn out well for the two of you." Kaido smiled, and he took a bite of the sandwich that Eleifa prepared.

I was silent for a moment, thinking about the upcoming Saturday and Sunday, and what to do
