Elmir
In the thick of the night, when all were sound asleep after the day had been spent, safe the crickets and the frogs at sea sang their songs, A beautiful young Fae very gently walked on a path illuminated by the fireflies.
She had a bundle in her arm and she cradled it to her chest.
It was dangerous to walk at this time of the night, but it was the only chance she had to succeed in what she had to do.
She felt her stomach hurt and she paused for a while before speaking some magic words and the pain eased.
Her magic wasn't the same and she wasn't as strong as she usually was.
Giving birth had drained her energy so much she had almost died. She knew she was dying.
Her bundle made a soft noise and she eased down the wrappings for air.
Her little daughter, Angel, barely three days old was so beautiful and perfect.
She wanted to keep her and protect her but she knew she couldn't.
Angel was innocent, she was the one who had been unfortunate to be born under such circumstances.
It was not her fault that she was a human.
Human.
The word itself brought chills down the spine of anyone.
Ever since the war, the humans had been made extinct and none had been sighted for at least over seven hundred years.
But she, Aine, had met a human, fallen in love with him and even though she knew it was a dangerous mistake she had not cared.
He had abandoned her when she was pregnant and she couldn't return him it would have been too shameful.
So she had run away.
Her pregnancy had been unusual and she had given birth after twelve months.
Her birth itself had almost driven her to the jaws of death but both her and her child survived.
She had prayed to the gods that her baby would be born a Fae.
But Aine had been horrified to see her child didn't just have human ears, but also radiant blue eyes.
She reached the steps of her father's house and gently set her bundle down.
She took off the necklace that hung around her neck and set it over Angel.
Her father would never accept her and she knew that he still had not forgiven her and very much wanted nothing to do her.
Especially her step mother.
Not after what she had done.
But he would understand. He was different from the average Fae father.
He would love Angel and protect her, she knew.
She kissed Angel and spoke some magic words and then she felt the tears in her eyes begin to burn.
She knocked at the door and fled.

"My Lord." The Household fairy rushed to his master's door and knocked heavily.
Casmir opened his door, annoyed at being woken up.
"By the gods how dare you wake me up at such a time?!" He demanded of the servant.
"I am sorry my lord. But this was left at the door." The fairy said pushing the bundle at him.
Casmir's eyes opened in surprise.
"And a message came with the baby." The fairy informed.
At that moment his wife Hellen stepped up behind him.
"What's going on?" She asked.
Casmir collected the paper and read aloud.
"Dear papa. I am sorry for what I have done but I am not brave enough to face you. I hope you forgive me. I ran away from
home because I was with child. I could not bare the thought of killing my own clan and so I kept her. And I had hoped that she would come out a Fae but she is human-
"Human?!" Helen gasped. She started to fan herself with her hand fan.
Casmir ignored his wife and continued.
"And I know that she is going to be looked at as an abomination. I am ashamed of myself. I can not raise her And so I leave her with you. I will never return home. Please take care of her. Her name is Angel."
"Aine left a human baby with us?!" Helen screamed. "Oh Casmir! Look what your bloody daughter has done! I knew it! I knew she would be the death of us one day! What is society going to say?! A bloody human?! Where did she find a human?!"
Casmir ignored his wife and collected the baby from the house fairy.
"Don't touch it!" She snapped at him.
But he already had her in his arms.
Her radiant blue eyes staring back at him.
Blue eyes were a myth. No one had them anymore.
Their eyes were either brown or black
She looked into his eyes and Casmir was instantly captivated.
"Angel." He said.
She smiled and he in turn returned the smile.
"You know what? Let's throw it into the bush and act like nothing ever happened?" She said hoping he would agree. "Problem finished."
He ignored her.
"Casmir I hope you have no intentions of bringing that thing to live with us!" His wife demanded.
But He had already made a decision.
