One good, One evil.

Once Papa and I got home, it was almost dark.

"We're having dinner as a family." He told me.

I felt my stomach kick.

That meant mother, Elvira and I were going to be at the table eating together.

I felt sick.

"Isn't a welcome from a younger sister to her brother necessary?" A familiar deep voice said.

I turned around and was shocked to see Warren standing in the hallway, very much still in his uniform.

I screamed and rushed up to hug him.

He twirled me in his arms and spun me around.

I embraced him and dwelled in the comforting hug for a while before I very reluctantly let go of him.

"Warren. You're home!" I said in disbelief.

It had been years. Almost ten years that I had last seen him.

He was so handsome and different.

His long blonde hair was tied up in a ponytail, and his brown eyes shown in the light.

His features were much more projected compared to when i had last seen him or to any of the pictures that hung in our home.

I could tell that he had not just gained weight in the sense of a man who had gone to war, but the sense of a real Fae.

"Look at you." He said. "You've grown. The last time I saw you, you were as tiny as a rat."

"That is not true." I countered playfully.

"But you're now a woman aren't you?" He asked me.

From the corner of my eye I saw Papa frown .

Yup, he definitely hated people reminding him that I was now a woman and not just a little girl anymore.

I nodded. "Yes I'm a grown woman now."

I said putting on emphasis on the "grown woman" so that papa would be more annoyed.

"You're still my little sister." He said.

At that moment, I felt a shudder and I saw someone I had completely forgotten about.

Rafael.

I watched my other brother and Warren's twin brother progress forward.

My teeth gritted.

I had not seen him in the same amount of time that I had not seen Warren yet seeing him made my insides recoil.

I had never ever liked Rafael.

He had been horrible to me and treated me awfully.

When time had come, I was not sorry to watch him leave. But for Warren I was.

And that was the unfortunate thing.

They were identical twins. Very rare as we only had about six in the entire Elmir.

As Calming and welcoming Warren, so was Rafael Unsettling and discouraging.

He walked up to me and pulled me in such a fierce hug I felt uncomfortable.

I released myself uncomfortable with his touch and fixed a fake smile.

"It's good to see you Rafael." I said.

"You're a woman Angel." He said.

The way he said the word "woman" was so revolting it made me feel like he was assessing my features and to my greatest horror he was.

Looking me up and down in a very low and scanning gaze.

I felt naked and extremely uncomfortable.

"Thank you." I managed.

Then papa saved the day.

"Angel go and get ready for supper." He said.

I nodded and then fled up the steps, aware that Rafael's gaze was still fixed on me.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After dinner, we ate through our meal, while chattering.
Mother was excited to see her boys back home.
"Eat as much as you can. I'm sure they don't feed you adequately at that training camp." She said shooting papa a warning glance as if whatever conditions they were in was his fault.
But Papa didn't even notice it.
"It's so good to be home." Rafael said and I tried to forget that he was even on the table.
Elvira was chattering about all sorts of gossip and how she was going to tell her friends her brothers who were war heroes had come back home.
"I brought this for you."
It was Warren.
He was facing me directly at the table, so he passed it on to me and I collected it.
It was a rectangular box.
Elvira's face had gone alert and twitched with jealousy.
I opened it and saw that it was a dagger.
There were diamonds around the handle and rubies that complimented it further.
A very talented swordsmith must have spent his time making the markings on it.
It was a language I could not decipher.
But the dagger was so beautiful it caught my breath.
My eyes blurred with tears.
"You've always had a knack for being in trouble and I figured you would need something to protect yourself with." Warren said.
He was so intentional. He even remembered how much I hated being weak.
"I want it." Elvira said sounding like the rotten spoilt child she was.
"I've given you your gift already." Warren said sounding a bit annoyed.
"But I want hers." She pushed.
Before Warren could answer, I thanked him.
"I don't even know how to thank you." I said madly in love with the dagger."
Papa snorted. "You would not need it Angel . There will be no need of you to have a dagger, you will never be in trouble."
"I like it papa." I complained.
"Papa can I have it?" Elvira jumped into the conversation.
"Of course not!" Warren said losing his patience. "Gods mother, is this how spoilt Elvira has become?"
"She isn't spoilt, she is just speaking her mind." Mother said taking a sip of her wine.
Warren turned back to Papa. "It's a gift. I haven't seen my sister in over nine years. She will have it."
Papa didn't batter with Warren and I was so delighted because I knew I could keep it.
Warren looked at me when the table was hushed and he winked at me.
I was so pleased having someone who finally understood me.
Beside Mother, Rafael looked at me and I felt ill in my tummy.
