RESCUE

The creature groaned in pain as I slashed its side and dodged, but it pushed me back and was already growling at me.

The others came at me and then I was able to maniuever it and fling my dagger at it.

It cried in pain.

With one of my daggers already gone, I only had one weapon.

And that would not be enough.

Retrieving the other dagger would be dangerous.

Magdou had told me to always consider alternatives in battle.

My eyes went to the fire that I had set up to warm myself and the horse before they had interrupted and then I picked up a slab of wood with fire and used it on the creature and set it through the chest.

It cried in pain and then it's brown blood spattered on my face before it fell dead to the ground.

I retrieved my dagger and held my other dagger ready to launch my attack.
