Chapter 32: Settling Things with Melanie

I seriously debated tying her up before we had this conversation. But I think that would have just sent her the wrong impression. She’s in trouble, and I need to deal with her. Punish her. Not in the fun way.

I did at least sit across the table from her, out of range of her hands, and making sure there is plenty of room between her teeth and my collarbone. “We need to talk,” I say to her. “About something that happened while you were away.”

She smiles at me, tossing her hair out of her eyes with a flick of her head. “Ooh, what happened? Did someone do something bad?”

I frown and make a fist under the table, pushing my fingernails into my palm to keep me focused. “Yes,” I say. “You did. You went running in the territory of another pack and marked your scent there.”

“What?” She looks confused, which makes me think that she didn’t do it on purpose. That’s good; that makes things easier. If she’s being honest. “I didn’t – did someone say that I peed in their territory?”
