Chapter 36: The Unexpected Direction

I'm not actually sure whether it would be a good thing or a bad thing for Jonathan to take over. If he has the right ideas, it might be good. And if he is serious about me co-leading the pack, it might mean that I can make sure he has those right ideas. The only thing to do, I think, is to talk to him and see where he stands.

“I did not expect you would be the one to call me for a date,” he says. I can hear his smirk over the phone.

“I'm not calling you for a date,” I say. “I'm just letting you know that I've been thinking about the whole situation, and I want to know your real intentions.”

“I believe I have been quite clear on my intentions.”

Okay, I'm nowhere near him right now, so I know it's not my wolf responding to his. He's just being a jerk. “You've told me what you plan to do with me and my pack. But not about your real intentions. The intentions for the future.”

“I'm sure I have no idea what you're talking about,” he says.
