Chapter 44: So Much Power in Such a Small Body

Everything happened at once. Unearthly howls shattered the evening air, sending the Pack into a wild frenzy. Cane stood like a marble statue, his jaw tight and his eyes hot with rage.

I could see everything. The fabric of life connecting us all. The threads connecting us to the divine. It was in that moment I knew the Goddess was real, not a construct of our minds.

Witches were more connected to Spirit than other creatures, but I think we all doubted at least a little. It was hard to believe in things when we couldn’t see them, right? Even all the times I spoke directly to her, it sometimes felt a little like I was speaking and reasoning with myself.

But right now, standing in the silence, feeling like I floated outside of my body and seeing the essence of everything, I realized we were all specks of life in a divine plan.
