Chapter 4- Nightmare

Goodnight" Xavier says as i layed next to him like i was in a dead corpse.

"Goodnight" i said back and reached out for the lantern next to me.

This was my first night ever with Xavier and my heart couldn't stop beating uncontrollably. As i layed straight on the bed, unable to move, i looked up at the ceiling.

Eventually, i did agree to sleep with him even though I disagreed up to 10 times, but Xavier would always pin me down with words like "you couldn't even take a shower without getting hurt, how do you expect me to leave you alone all by yourself?"

Those words were rather taunting, but he had a point, so i reluctantly agreed and here I am now, sleeping next to him, and my eyes wide open.

I could tell that this was also his first night with a woman because his eyes were also darted opened as well.

I turned to the side of the bed trying to get some sleep but i just didn't feel as comfortable sleeping on my left. I turned to the right thinking I'd feel alittle at ease and was stunned to see Xavier facing the same way.

He was fast asleep and his hair was covering part of his face which only made him look more sexier. He looked more peaceful and gullible with his eyes closed.

As i pushed his hair aside to take a closer look, i blushed at the view. It was hard to believe that i had him all to myself.

But was i just being selfish?

The more i thought about it, the more guilty i felt. It didn't seem nice lying that i had amnesia, I'm in this situation i couldn't get out from or it will cost me a whole blood, sweat and tears.

Lost in thoughts, i found myself slowing drifting from reality and before i knew it, i zoned out.

The next day,

The minute I opened my eyes, it was obvious that something felt oddly weird but not in a bad way,  as fast as a light bulb, my eyes witnessed a sleepy figure right Infront of me.

Not only that, we were sleeping in the weirdest position. Xavier's grip was on my waist and i was so close to his chest, i barely had enough space to breathe. My position wasn't any better because my hand was inside his robe and it unexpectedly made it's way to his abs. Other than that, our faces was so close, we were so close to kissing.

How on earth did this happen without me noticing?

I must have slept so deep, i didn't that I'd rolled over to his spot overnight.

Panicked, i slowly rolled my way at the other side of the bed trying not to wake him up.

I sat up from my bed and i was surprised by how much i enjoyed my night. I felt a lot more refreshed and it felt like this was the first peaceful nap I've had in years without having any panic attacks at night.

As i reached out for my shoes, i headed to the showers quietly and took a 10 minutes cold shower.

Today was a new day. I might not be fully healed, but it doesn't stop me from going to work. It's been almost a month since i showed my face in the office and I'm pretty sure all my coworkers are worried sick.

As i put on a casual wear for work, i entered the room to use the hair dryer but stumbled into  Xavier who looked ready for the day. He had his suit, tie and everything that screamed 'Work' on. It almost made me forgot that it was a Monday and he also had work.

"Good morning" we both chorused awkwardly.

"You didn't take a shower?" I asked

"I used the other restroom downstairs. Where are you going?" He threw back a question.

"I'm going to work. I'll be back in the evening" i said while adjusting my collar.

"But you're still recovering. How can you even think of work?" Xavier vocalized and judging by how stiff his voice was, i could tell that he was worried but couldn't express it.

"I'm getting better. You don't to worry." I sat on the bed and put on the hair dryer. As i lifted my hand up, an urging pain sprouted.

"Let me help" He grabs the hair dryer from my hand and softly adjust my hair behind my back. While blowing my hair, he curved my hair at the side of my shoulders.

Sometimes, his hands kept sticking up behind my ears as he brushes some strands of my hair.

The next 15 minutes of blow drying and silence was the best and honestly, i wished it never ends.

After he was done, we both made our way downstairs where an elderly woman around her late 50's was waiting for us.

"Good morning Mr Xavier!" She greeted with a beaming smile. Noticing my presence, her eyes lit up in excitement.

"Is this your wife you've been telling me about. Oh it's so nice to meet you dear- I'm Miss Raven." she compliments and reaches out her hand for a handshake.

"Your husband has told me so much about you Miss Alisa. I heard about your accident as well, how are you feeling?" She continued as i accepted the handshake.

"I'm feeling much better- thank you." I appreciated.

"Come! Come! Breakfast is ready!-" Raven sits me down but Xavier on the other hand refused.

"You're not gonna eat anything before you leave?" i questioned while slicing my bread

"It's an important business meeting. I'll eat when I get there" his eyes on the watch.

Without even saying goodbye, he grabbed his bag and headed straight to the door. The serious look on his face was overwhelming and i knew that was my cue to leave for work.

I did expect something a little more ' husband material' from him, but who was I to decide?
