Chapter 62: Heading to a Dead-end

Zhou Lu had been watching over Ye Nuannuan in the hospital room, and it was not until two hours later that she finally woke up.

Zhou Lu could barely contain his excitement as he tightly held her hand and said softly, "You're awake. Why be so foolish?"

Ye Nuannuan had not expected him to be the first person she saw upon waking. With a weak and pale face, she smiled contentedly and said weakly, "Seeing you one last time before I die, I'm already satisfied."

Zhou Lu's eyebrows furrowed slightly as he said unexpectedly, "You won't die."

A trace of gloom passed through her eyes as she replied softly, "You shouldn't have saved me, Zhou Lu."

Zhou Lu stubbornly said, "I won't let you die. Listen to me, I want you to live well."

His face was stern, yet the way he looked at her was incongruously soft.

Ye Nuannuan did not look at him but slowly turned her face to the side. Tears slid down her nose to the pillow. Her voice was as light as a feather, "But I'm tired of living, Zhou Lu."
