The next day, when Su Jian got out of bed, she found that her head was no longer dizzy, probably due to her fever subsiding. The pain in her lower abdomen had also eased a lot and was within a tolerable range. Generally, the first day was the hardest for her, and a painkiller would resolve it.
Jiang Yan had gotten up even earlier than her, and by this time, she was already dressed and ready to leave with her bag in hand.
But Su Jian noticed right away that Jiang Yan's complexion was off and upon checking her forehead found it was burning hot. Su Jian snatched the bag from her hands and threw it onto the sofa.
"You're burning up like this and you still want to go to work? What's more important, your job or your life? Sit here and I'll go get a thermometer to check your temperature!"
Jiang Yan weakly slumped onto the sofa, clutching her abdomen, her face ghastly pale.
