Chapter 11 : Meeting at the Headquarters

In a well decorated office in the Knights of Favonius Headquarters, two women were waiting. The first one, a witch wearing a white and purple dress, was leisurely reading a book, probably originating from one of the tall bookshelves that covered most of the room. The other one was a tall blonde woman clad in light armor. She was pacing around the room, worry visible on her face. As she approached the door, the witch spoke up.

"Jean, what's the hurry? I thought we agreed to meet them here."

"Stormterror has already attacked the city. Once we meet, we must..."

"Relax, I'll lend a hand a hand when the time comes."

At this moment, the door opened, revealing a tall, blue haired man followed by two women and a flying fairy. As he entered, Kaeya addressed the knight.

"Jean, I've brought them."

"Good work, Kaeya. Why don't you tell us what happened on your side while we wait for Eula."

___

"... And once it was over, I brought them straight here."

"Mondstadt welcomes you, windborne travelers.

I am Jean, Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius. This is Lisa, our resident librarian."

As she said that, the witch waved at the Lumine and Paimon.

"Hi, are you sweeties here to help us out? You're both so adorable!"

Hearing this, Lumine's face gained a slight blush.

"Sadly, the timing is regrettable, Stormterror has caused quite the ruckus in the region since its recent resurgence.

Simply put, Mondstadt's elemental sphere and Leylines are now akin to a yarn ball in the paws of a kitten.

For a mage, it couldn't get much worse. My skin is one elemental particle away from a full-blown breakout."

"If it weren't for this interference, the Knights of Favonius would have better ways to help than just putting up missing person posters. As the Acting Grand Master, I have to apologise for that. We simply ask that you repose in Mondstadt while we help you seek out your brother."

Before Lumine could answer, a knock was heard, followed by another blue haired person followed by two people. The main difference was that this time, the one guiding them was a woman.

"Captain of the Reconnaissance Company, Eula Lawrence, I have brought the two guests as instructed."

"Thanks, Eula. Anything else to report?"

"Nothing other than a few more grudges to repay, Grand Master."

After introducing themselves and explaining the situation to the two newcomers, it came time for an important question.

"As the Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius, I ask of you, would you be willing to assist us in dealing with the current predicament we have to face? Of course, should you agree, you will be duly compensated for your assistance."

"Paimon thinks we should help! What about you, Lumine?"

"It would indeed be for the best to lend them a hand this time."

"Many thanks, what about you, Mordred, Fischl? If you want, we can also hire you through the Guild, although it would take more time."

"The Prinzessin der Verurteilung ist willing to graciously extend her salvific wings upon thou. Howbeit, she shan't take action if her pledged comrade believeth otherwise."

Hearing this surprised Mordred a little. While they had indeed agreed to become a permanent team, it was still recent and in this situation, most people wouldn't have the reflex to speak and act as a team. As such, she started thinking.

'On one hand, it's not a matter that involves us and it might be quite dangerous. On the other, Fischl wants to give them a hand, and the Knights might have something I need. In conclusion, I either go against Fischl's wishes and lose a chance to solve my conundrum, but we do not risk anything, or we fight and other than our lives, we have everything to gain.'

"I'll agree to help. However, when we're done dealing with that, I'll take my reward in the form of a favor."

Hearing that, Kaeya spoke.

"Good. In that case we need a plan."

Jean was the first to speak up.

"With Stormterror now directly attacking Mondstadt, we may have the opportunity to cut this problem off at the source.

Lisa has revealed the sources of Stormterror's power with her detection magic."

"Is that so?"

"They're located in the abandoned Four Winds' Temples. Stormterror's ability to whip up these kinds of storms can be attributed to it drawing power from the temples."

"Our objective is to deal with three of the four temples. I trust everyone understands why we are only dealing with three."

"I don't, d'you know why?"

"This Prinzessin knowest not. The guardian, keeper of knowledge and master of witchcraft shallt be in a position to enlighten us."

"Knights of Favonius, time is against us. The storm is rampant. There is no point in maintaining a defensive position. We need to take the initiative and act before the situation escalates.

Amber and Eula, you'll take on the Temple of the Falcon.

Mordred, Fischl and Lisa, I'll leave the Temple of the Lion to you.

Lumine, Paimon and Kaeya, the Temple of the Wolf will be in your hands.

Meanwhile, I'll stay here to stabilize the situation and organize the recovery effort."

Hearing that, they prepared to leave, regrouping themselves.

Kaeya approached Lumine, an enigmatic smile on his face. Amber skipped to Eula, talking about finally having the opportunity to go on a date together. As for Lisa, she went to put away her book before joining up with Fischl and Mordred.

Here's a chapter for Fischl's birthday :D

I finally finished my final exams so now all that remains is my placement before I'll be able to relax and write more.

Since it's Fischl's birthday, I'll talk a bit about what I planned for her (I'll keep the spoilers to the minimum and keep things vague but if you really want to avoid any and all spoilers, feel free to not read the rest of this author note).

First of all, some changes with the original Fischl. In the game, Fischl is a character that acts basically like a chunny with the power to back it up. The backstories of everything is, however, completely fictionnal. In this story, I'll try to give these backstories at least a minimal basis in reality.

Now about her future developpement, I won't say much except that it'll be partially inspired by her HI3 version.

As for the romance and all, it will happen slowly and for now, according to my plans, it will start really taking shape around Sumeru.

That's all for today.

I hope you had a good time reading this chapter. Have a nice day/night/anything and finally, Happy Birthday Fischl !!!
