A Midsummer Night's Love Poem

15

We planned to spend a vacation together but the pandemic got worse that winter.

Two years passed but Joseph never came back.

As for me, I worked my ass off and finally got Habor University's fully refunded scholarship.

It was the first snow in my city that winter when the list of the winners of the fully refunded scholarship was public.

I looked up at the snowflakes all over the sky and sent a message to Joseph: [See you in Boken, Joseph.]

Joseph replied to me quickly: [Congratulations.]

I complained to Lucia, "Congratulations? This is all he wants to say to me?"

Lucia nodded. "That's not enough, of course."

My parents came to the city that night and invited me to have dinner together in a restaurant.

I put on a white down jacket and hailed a taxi.

Standing in front of a high-end restaurant, I was confused.

Did my parents win a lottery?

Why did they choose such a luxurious restaurant?

I pushed the door open and told the waiter the room number.
