My Fiancé Was Trying to Kill Me

23

I knew I should have been skeptical about who Mr. Warner really was.

Where did he come from? Who was he? Why was he telling me this? How could he have the superpower of mind-reading?

But my brain seemed to be instinctively avoiding thinking about these questions, not wanting to doubt Mr. Warner.

I used to think it was strange but I thought it was all because Mr. Warner looked so much like my grandfather.

Since he now said that Jason was planning to kill me, I had to think again about his identity and position.

In the past, I rarely stopped using my superpowers, but now I did.

So, for the first time, I realized what the rule "Superhumans could recognize superhuman" meant.

Mr. Warner was standing in front of me right now.

And just by looking at him, I knew who he was.

He was also superhuman.

Before I could speak, Mr. Warner spoke first.

"You're confused now, aren't you? Why am I still alive as a superhuman when 664 superhumans died out of 666?"
