As soon as I received the keys, I headed home.
Alas, I had only stayed there for a couple of days when a power outage occurred in the residential area.
Haha! Surprise, surprise. Clearly, I shouldn't have come back in the first place.
I went downstairs in the dark to buy some candles and chanced upon Jonathan in the convenience store.
He was buying ice cream, carrying a large bag of it as if he was a wholesaler.
I stared at those things and couldn't help but recall the scene of our encounter in high school.
"Want one?" Jonathan turned around and noticed me, assuming I was craving his food.
I hurriedly shook my head. "No, I'm here to buy some candles."
He nodded and was about to leave but suddenly turned back again.
"Why don't you come to my cybercafé? I still have electricity there. The residential area's power supply will only resume in the wee hours."
His tone was impassive as if he was just being polite.
