"Bullshit!" Carl yelled and leaped to his feet, knocking the cups and plates on the table with clangs.
The waiters and guests in the cafe all looked toward us.
I felt a headache coming on. I rubbed my forehead and told the woman calmly, "Well, I've parted with Carl."
"It's none of my business whether you are still together," the woman said.
I was speechless at her words. She had said my line.
Carl was still in a rage. He pointed at her nose, flaring, "You..."
The woman immediately interrupted him and said, "We can go to the hospital for a re-examination in any hospital in the city!"
Carl's hands trembled violently as he stuttered in a shaking voice, "Even so, it doesn't mean I..."
"We can do a paternity test," the woman interrupted him again in a calm and firm tone.
This situation was totally out of Carl's expectations. He froze there in shock.
I couldn't bear seeing him in such an awkward manner anymore, so I pulled him, and he fell back into the sofa.
