The Edible Women

A week later, my father was already full of vim and vigor. He didn't have to see a doctor at all, for it was evident he was in better shape than anyone else.

I finally felt relieved and went to bed early every day. Due to caring for him, I hadn't slept well in ages.

I had no idea what had happened to his body or why it happened, but he recovered, which was the best thing that could have happened.

That day, at midnight, I was awakened by the chatter in the main room. It seemed that someone was arguing fiercely about something.

"Hand her to the village. There are a lot of people here who are dying. We can't just sit back and watch them die." It was Howard's voice.

"I'm not going to be a fool again. If I hand her over to the village, I'll lose both money and her," said my father.

"Then, what do you plan to do?"

"This time, I'm going to have complete control over her. I'm not going to let her go until I fetch a good price for her."
