"Mr. Leen, what do you mean? I don't understand."
David had a hint of a cold smile at the corners of his mouth and said, "Since the first time I met you, I knew that you were not an ordinary person."
Not bad. Quite discerning.
I still wanted to say something, but David was called away by another police officer.
Before leaving, he reminded his colleagues to keep an eye on me.
Was David suspecting me?
It was getting more thrilling!
The police officer in charge of keeping an eye on me was the one who walked the dog during the day. He approached me and smiled.
He had no idea that David was suspecting me.
"Do you remember me? I will protect you, so don't be scared."
I weakly leaned on his chest, hugged his arm, and cried, saying, "It's horrible. I woke up and my uncle and everyone else were dead. Will I be the next one to die?"
The young police officer patted my arm and comforted me, "Don't worry. We will protect you."
