Flat-Brim Samurai Chapter 79 - The Light of Sovereignty

Narphun backed away, Apollo did the same. Apollo healed himself and looked at Narphun who was glowing brighter and brighter every second, almost blindingly so. Narphun spoke ,"Prepare to face oblivion, heathen. Experience the true power of a king." He opened his arms and his body disappeared amongst the waves. In an instant the power converged onto him. His body radiated a light one would expect from an angel. His armor and lance shimmered in that light. His face showed no emotion ,"Now I shall truly show you who was born to rule."

Apollo approached Narphun in a controlled but fast manner. Apollo swung his bokken but missed and missed and missed. Each consecutive attack hit nothing, no contact was felt, but he could sense that the man he was swinging at wasn't moving. ,"You seem to be confused, this is the speed at which light itself travels at. You will not attack me, for whatever moves slower than light will never catch up to it." Apollo's eyes widened at the realization that the man wasn't lying, he was at a speed that was on a whole other level than his.

BAM WOOSH KABOOM Without even being able to perceive it, Narphun slapped Apollo away, sending a low rumbling sound through space. Apollo hit a wall and flew right through, making a crater that dragged across the concrete of the streets. The slap opened a cut on his face, he healed the damage and gritted his teeth. Apollo stood up, wiping away the blood. He noticed Narphun's finger pointed his direction. Strings of light gravitated towards one point. Apollo attempted to dodge to the side but from his perspective the beam of light pierced his shoulder instantly.

Apollo Concealed his presence whilst covering himself in a layer of water. He used the layer of water to refract light so that he could become pseudo invisible (Art: Water Refraction). He then casted a huge blast of ki to destroy the ground, creating a smoke screen. Apollo ran and found a building to stay at. He sat down and slowly but surely removed the foreign ki and healed the damage…

Narphun looked around, stretching his senses. ,"Where is this child, he IS very good at concealing himself, but he can't escape me." Narphun gave up on looking for him, he reached out his hand, dousing it in energy. KABOOM CRUSH TWOO A 1 mile radius around him turned into a flat field when he used his Telekinesis. A barrier appeared in one area, it held Apollo protecting himself. Apollo had healed the damage, so he released the barrier and handed his bokken to his left hand. He then reached out his right arm outwards and stretched out the his energy to manifest his soul weapon.

Apollo's energy jumped up to 5x what it was. He put his spiritual weapon in front of his bokken and faced Narphun. Narphun noticed the difference in Apollo's eyes, a more steely resolve. Narphun raised his lance into the air and swiped across, a bunch of gatherings of light appeared and bolted in Apollos direction. Apollo at the last minute sensed that a vacuum was being created to make the light faster, which allowed him to dodge, essentially like moving out of the way at which a gun is pointed. ,"Nicely done, but how will you handle this?" Apollo sensed light beams forming behind him, trained at his back. Before he was struck he set up 10 Water Barriers layered on top of one another to block the damage TINTINTINTINTINTINITNITNINTIN.

Behind him Narphun was already there with his lance moving towards his head, Apollo tapped the tip of the weapon, getting the lance just off of its axis of attack. He then swiped at Narphun's neck, but he dodged. He followed up with a roundhouse kick to the same side. Before he struck Narphun, Narphun said ,"I'll indulge you," BAM. He struck Narphun with his bokken STIK. Upon lifting his sword up he noticed a slice was visible. It was just 1 centimeter deep but it was enough. Apollo raised his spiritual weapon, throwing away his bokken, he gripped his soul katana with both hands, slicing and deepening the cut, but stopping at bone SLASH THUNK. ,"Is that truly all you can do?" Narphun then twisted his fist, punching Apollo's face, using hip movement to punish him KABOOM. Upon moving his fist away, he saw Apollo's face, smiling, eyes glazed over ,"I THINK THAT FINALLY GOT ME IN THE ZONE!!!" He said, activating Overdrive.
