Hovering

By the end of her day, Aakifahlynn was tired. She refused to sleep in the barn or elsewhere besides the comfort of her own bed.

She wanted her bed, plain and simple. But she did not want her husband coming at her.

So when Aakifahlynn had gotten ready for bed, she spelled herself to appear asleep solid for when her husband returned to their chambers for the night.

And that night, he had come to bed before she fell asleep for real. However, the spell was in play, her eyes closed.

She appeared to be sound asleep....and then...

And the bloody bagpipe had tried to 'wake her.' "Aakifah, my darling? Are you awake?" His voice dripped in longing, he shook her, and Jairus stared down at his mate as if seeing her for the first time.

But Aakifahlynn's eyes could be open, her body moving on the bed, or she could feel emotions, and all Jairus would see, or sense was that she was sound asleep.

It was like a flawless mirage.

"Honey?"... Still hovering.

"My love?"... Another tug.
