Demarion could not think clearly. He was scared of losing Aakifahlynn again.
Not long after, Aakifahlynn came out in a long white nightgown, placed her bag of things on a table next to the vast bed, and walked toward him. "Are you okay?" she asked, her voice only a whisper.
Then she busied herself making a drink, "Oh, Goddess, I need a drink." Demaron gazed at her, and he smiled at her comment and answered her, "I am okay. I was just worried about what might have happened if I did not get to you in time."
Aakifahlynn paused. She had also wondered the same while she was having her bath. She was grateful he'd been camping outside her room; otherwise, they might have overpowered her. The thought that she could have been on her way back to the Kingdom terrified her.
"Hmm, I know what you mean; it worried me too; imagine if it was not for you, I might have been on my way to the Kingdom by now," Aakifahlynn admitted and chuckled bitterly after taking a sip of scotch.
