Twisted Loop

Aakifahlynn's gaze remained fixed on Demarion, her patience unwavering despite his repeated references to timelines. She would get to that, and his words did not unsettle her; after all, she had faced death and time travel. She was determined to understand, to unravel the mystery that lay before her.

Perhaps this had happened before, and it wasn't the first time she had thought. But how did Demarion know about it, and the one before, when he had failed to kidnap her? And how was he connected to this? Was he the orchestra of it all?

Demarion's arms outstretched in surrender, still, an almost feeble attempt to say Please stay calm as he said. "Please, hear me out."

"I am listening." Aakifahlynn shot back immediately, the words not completely leaving his lips before she answered, her impatience palpable, eager for him to get on with it.
