Jasper sat at the edge of the bed, while Vincent gave him a look, and then started taking off his shirt.

"W-what're you doing Your Majesty?" Jasper asked, trying to look away from Vincent's body.

"Getting ready to shower?" Vincent asked rhetorically.

"Uh, I can wait for you outside." Jasper offered, turning to go.

"No need. Stay here. You should get ready to shower too." Vincent told him.

"I'll just wait for you to finish." Jasper suggested.

"You could just join me?" Vincent asked hopefully.

Jasper tensed then replied, "No thanks, I'm good."

"Suit yourself." Vincent told him, then turned around, about to zip down the zipper of his pants.

"Please do that in the bathroom!" Jasper yelled in panic.

Vincent froze in shock then laughed, deciding to comply. He went to the bathroom.

While Vincent was gone, Jasper laid on the bed, staring at the ceiling and wondering to himself how things had progressed this far in just a very short time. He placed his hand on his chest, feeling his heartbeat. It seemed to be beating faster, even though Vincent wasn't here anymore.

When Vincent came back, Jasper had already gotten everything he needed before Vincent came out, so he just bundled them all up and carried them to the bathroom with him, making sure the door was shut tight behind him.

Vincent chuckled at his antics. "Does he really think, I can't just break in if I want to? But then again I'm not a pervert, so..."

Jasper came out of the bathroom in his pajamas, consisting of a shirt and trousers, only to see Vincent in a pair of boxer briefs.

Vincent looked up from the bed and shrugged, "What? It's hot."

Jasper didn't reply. He simply stood beside the bed wondering where he was meant to sleep as Vincent was lying down directly in the centre of the entire bed.

As though reading his mind, Vincent spoke, "You can lie down, over here." He patted his left side.

The bed was big enough, it's just that Jasper felt it'll be uncomfortable to have someone else sleep in your own bed and you won't be able to take up as much space as you want, and in addition, the other person sleeping in your bed would feel very uncomfortable confined to a very small portion of the bed.

While he was thinking, he didn't realize Vincent had moved directly in front of him, so he was extremely shocked to see him standing right in front of him with a tired expression.

"I wonder why you think too much." He said. "What is there to think about here?"

"I just don't want you to be uncomfortable on your own bed." Jasper explained.

"I'll be much more uncomfortable if you weren't sleeping in this bed with me. You ask often why I rarely sleep. I'll tell you why now. I've always felt uncomfortable. No, it's not the bed. I'm referring to all our lifetimes, and as far back as I can remember, the only times I slept peacefully were moments when we slept together as kids or even when we were too poor to afford an actual bed. Basically every time I slept beside you, sleeping was as natural as breathing."

Jasper blinked, then asked, "If that was the case, why didn't you tell me? I'd have-"

"-have made compromises? It was never within the scope of your duties either as a best friend or servant, so obviously, I wouldn't burden you with such. But now... Now, it's different. You're my boyfriend, meaning I can take advantage of you as much as I'd like to, and... you can't complain." Vincent told him with a creepy smile.

"Now I sort of wish I knew what I was getting into before agreeing to be your boyfriend." Jasper said with a wry smile.

Vincent's creepy smile froze on his face. "What then? You wouldn't have agreed?"

"No. I'd just have set terms and conditions to favour me more, because it seems all the terms favour you in this relationship." Jasper retorted with a creepy smile of his own.

Vincent shook his head in mock annoyance. "Well, too bad. I'm the one calling the shots here, so take it as it is."

Jasper tsked at him, about to admonish him for his words, but Vincent spoke first.

"Don't nag me and go to bed already." Vincent scolded and raised the sheets, then pushed Jasper onto the bed, tucking him under the sheets before going to the other side and laying under the sheets as well.

He picked up a remote from the bedside table and shut off the lights.

Not too long after, the sound of Vincent's even breathing could be heard as he slept.

Jasper remained very stiff on the bed however, unable to sleep as he stared off into the darkness thinking over and over, wondering how their relationship had gotten to this point. Not long after, he felt Vincent roll over onto his side and rest his head against his shoulder, and he almost jumped out of his skin. He stiffened briefly, before relaxing and turning on his side as well, to embrace Vincent.

He rested the side of his face on Vincent's head, making himself as comfortable as he could and not long after, he drifted off to sleep.

Few days later, Vincent and Jasper entered another fortune-telling stall.

The fortune-teller looked only in her late forties, and was dressed rather plainly in a tee-shirt, gypsy skirt and scarf. She looked up with a knowing smile, as though she'd been expecting them...

"I was told you'd be coming, and you came just at the right time too. A few weeks more and you'd have died again." The fortune-teller informed them.

"Why do you say so?" Jasper asked.

"There would have been another accident, to mark the end of this life. You would have died and begun another life. Your last life left." She explained.

"However, you came here. Your journey began here when you found out about the curse, and your journey ends here. You have both suffered enough. Vincent, take care of him." She told Vincent, referring to Jasper.

"I will. I have no other reason to exist." He replied, even though he was looking at Jasper as he spoke. He held Jasper's hand, as though to show his devotion.

The fortune-teller nodded as though satisfied, then turned to Jasper.

"It's enough. You can relax now. You've done enough, just let him take care of you. That's all you have to do left. The curse has been lifted. You are both free and you will both live long lives, before you die this time. You have someone else to take care of afterall. A little jade eyed one." She told him.

"Someone else? Jade eyed? Like a child or what?" Jasper asked.

The fortune-teller only smiled without replying, in an 'I've told you all you need to know. You can leave now...' manner.

Vincent understood, and dragged the still curious Jasper away.

The fortune-teller laughed at the sight of their retreating backs, and the melodic sound of her laughter filled the air.
