Wedding day

4 days later…

Today was the day of Lilith and Ava's wedding, and Lilith felt a mix of excitement and anxiety. She had been preparing for this moment for days, but she still had doubts about whether she was doing the right thing. She barely knew Ava, and she had agreed to marry her for the sake of peace between their kingdoms and avenge her mother. But was it really a good decision ?

Lilith tried to push away these thoughts as she sat in front of the mirror, letting the maids do their work. They brushed her long white hair, curled it into elegant waves, and pinned it up with pearls and flowers. They applied a light make-up on her fair skin, enhancing her red eyes and rosy lips. They helped her put on her purple wedding dress, which hugged her curves and flowed down to the floor. The dress had a low neckline, showing off her cleavage, and a long train, making her look like a queen It was a little bit different from the one she had try before but it was still the same color.

"You will be the most beautiful bride, Princess," said one of the maids, admiring her work.

"How beautiful you are! Ava will only be charmed by your beauty," added another maid, smiling.

Lilith thanked them politely, but she felt a pang of sadness. She wished they were complimenting her because they liked her, not because they had to. She wished she had friends who cared about her, not just servants who obeyed her. She wished she had someone who loved her, not just someone who married her.

She shook off these feelings and stood up, ready to face her destiny. She took a deep breath and walked out of the room, followed by the maids. As she walked through the corridors of the castle, she saw many people staring at her with awe and admiration. They whispered words of praise and congratulations, but Lilith could also sense their curiosity and skepticism. They wondered how this marriage would work out, how long it would last, how happy it would make them.

Lilith ignored them and focused on her father, who was waiting for her at the end of the hall. He smiled warmly at her and hugged her gently.

"My darling daughter, you look stunning," he said softly.

"Thank you, Father," Lilith said.

"I'm so proud of you, Lilith. You are doing this for our kingdom, for our people. You are making a great sacrifice, but also a great opportunity. You are creating a new future for us all."

"I hope so, Father," Lilith said.

"I know so, Lilith. Trust me, everything will be fine. Ava is a good person, a good leader. She will treat you well, respect you, protect you. She will be a good wife to you."

Lilith nodded, but she wasn't sure if she believed him. She had met Ava only a few daays before their wedding day, Lilith didn't kno a lot about Ava but Ava was becoming less cold with her.

Lilith's father took her hand and led her to the door that opened to the wedding hall. He kissed her forehead and whispered words of encouragement.

"Are you ready?" he asked.

"Yes," Lilith said.

They walked into the hall together, where hundreds of guests were waiting for them. There were demons and humans alike, representing both kingdoms and their allies. They all stood up and clapped as Lilith entered, but Lilith only had eyes for one person: Ava.

Ava was standing at the altar with the priest, wearing a black suit and red tie. She looked handsome and confident, but also nervous and tense. She smiled when she saw Lilith approaching.

Lilith felt a surge of emotion as she reached Ava's side. She was about to marry this woman who was so different from her in every way: in appearance, in personality, in background. She wondered what they would say to each other after they exchanged their rings, what they would do on their wedding night, what they would learn about each other in their married life.

She looked into Ava's eyes and tried to find something that would reassure her that this was not a mistake.

Ava leaned in and whispered in Lilith's ear: "You look gorgeous."

Lilith felt a blush rising on her cheeks and whispered back: "Thank you."

They both turned to face the priest, who asked for silence before beginning the ceremony.

"Dearly beloved," he said in a loud voice. "We are gathered here today to witness and celebrate the union of Princess Lilith of Astaroth and Princess Ava and future queen of Belial in holy matrimony…"

Lilith and Ava listened attentively as he spoke about the importance of love, loyalty, harmony, and peace in marriage. He reminded them of their duties and responsibilities as rulers and as partners. He praised them for their courage and wisdom in choosing this path of reconciliation and cooperation.

He then asked them to exchange their vows, but Lilith and Ava had none prepared. They had not known each other long enough to make any promises or declarations. They simply repeated the words that the priest told them to say, without much emotion or conviction.

"I, Lilith, take you, Ava, to be my wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part."

"I, Ava, take you, Lilith, to be my wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part."

They then exchanged their rings, which were made of gold and silver and had their names engraved on them. They slid them on each other's fingers with a gentle touch.

"With these rings," the priest said. "I pronounce you woman and woman. You may now kiss the bride."

Lilith and Ava looked at each other hesitantly. They knew they had to seal their marriage with a kiss, but they felt awkward and uncomfortable. They leaned in slowly and pressed their lips together briefly. It was a chaste and formal kiss that convey passion and desire mostly from Ava.

The guests cheered and applauded as they broke apart. Lilith and Ava smiled politely and waved at them. They then walked down the aisle hand in hand, followed by their families.

The grand hall reverberated with the sound of applause as Lilith and Ava stood side by side, newly wed and radiant in their love. The room seemed to overflow with an atmosphere of joy and celebration, as the guests acknowledged the union of two different worlds, brought together by fate and a shared destiny.

As the applause faded, the festivities shifted into full swing. The air was electric with anticipation as the grand ball commenced. Couples danced elegantly across the floor, their movements fluid and graceful. Among them, Ava and Lilith stood out, their chemistry evident as they opened the dance with a waltz of timeless elegance.

The orchestra played a soft melody, guiding their steps as they swayed in each other's arms. Ava's touch was firm yet gentle, leading Lilith with a sense of confidence that belied their initial rivalry. The proximity between them was both exhilarating and nerve-wracking for Lilith, who found herself caught in Ava's gaze.

As they twirled and moved in rhythm, Ava's playful flirtations continued, evident in the way she held Lilith close. "You truly are a vision tonight, my dear," Ava whispered, her voice a velvety whisper that sent shivers down Lilith's spine.

Lilith's cheeks flushed at the compliment, her heartbeat quickening. "And you're not so bad yourself," she managed to respond, her words tinged with a mixture of amusement and embarrassment.

Lila observed the dance from a distance, a mix of pride and concern in her gaze. Once the dance concluded, Lilith and Ava exchanged polite greetings before parting, mingling with the guests who had gathered to celebrate their union.

The festivities carried on for hours, the hall illuminated by the warm glow of candles and chandeliers. Laughter and music filled the air, creating a harmonious symphony of joy. The night seemed to pass in a blur, with conversations, dances, and merriment merging into a tapestry of memories.

As the moon climbed higher in the sky, signaling the approaching end of the celebration, some guests began to bid their farewells and depart for the night. The palace gradually started to quiet down, the echoes of laughter fading into the gentle hush of the night.

Amidst the waning festivities, Lila seized a moment to pull Lilith aside, her expression serious despite the festive atmosphere. Lilith's brow furrowed in response to her sister's demeanor. "Everything's ready for tonight's plan, Lilith," Lila revealed, her words carrying a sense of urgency.

Lilith's gaze met her sister's, a mixture of determination and unease in her eyes. She simply nodded in acknowledgment, her heart pounding with a sense of responsibility.

"In a few minutes, you and Ava will be going to the bridal chamber," Lila continued, her tone low and conspiratorial. She handed Lilith a dagger, a cold weight in her hand.

Lilith looked at the dagger, a myriad of emotions swirling within her. "Make sure you hide it well," Lila instructed, her voice tinged with a sense of caution and determination.
