Chapter 10 : Handcuffed

*Beth’s POV*

I decided to walk to get my mind off the fact that I might be living with vampires.

It was sunny outside, and I let the heat warm my skin. I only walked for a little bit, afraid of going any farther. I didn’t want a reason for Zed to have to look for me. I shuddered at the thought.

Right next to the police station was an antique shop that looked charming and quiet. I could use a break and a calm place to think right now. Maybe my life could be normal for a few minutes after the crazy past few days I’d had. So I entered the small shop and studied my surroundings.

The place was tiny but packed with rows upon rows of old trinkets. I searched the aisles, taking my time. What else did I have to do today? It was nice to feel some semblance of normalcy. I enjoyed shopping and pretended it was a typical day before all this happened.
