Chapter 41:
*Beth’s POV*
As Daniel and I walked to the sporting goods store, I could tell something was on his mind. He wasn’t his usual talkative self.
When we entered the two-story store, I was surprised at its size. How could there be so many different kinds of sports and products people needed for them? I followed Daniel to the soccer section. There were a lot more items than just soccer balls, like nets, goalie gloves, cleats, training cones, and neon training ladders.
“Wow, I can’t believe how many training products there are for soccer. I knew it was hard, but now I’m starting to appreciate it fully,” I stated.
I was impressed by everything that went into being a talented athlete. Daniel didn’t respond at first, so I turned around. He was staring at an expansive water bottle blankly.
“Daniel, are you okay?”
I grabbed his hand. He had the stray black kitten in the other one.
“Uh, what?” Daniel blinked and seemed to come back to the present. “Yeah, I’m good.”
