Daniel woke up and helped set Beth on her feet. She swayed slightly, obviously having had too much to drink at the dinner party. 


“Let’s go inside,” Zed told Daniel. 


The young vampire squeezed Beth’s hand before he followed Zed into the villa. Zed turned around and walked into the house to give Beth one last look. 


“I have something to tell you when you come back,” he told her. 


Beth looked between us, obviously confused. “What do you mean? Haven’t I already come back?” 


Zed grinned and went into the house without answering her. Once he shut the door behind him, I turned to face her.


“I want to take you to get the dress I designed for you,” I began. “I know of a high-end store that is open late near here, and they already made your clothes. Wait for me in the car, please.” 


She did as I asked, and I ran inside to get a water bottle from the fridge. Beth had indulged in the wine Buckle had brought out.
