The day leading up to Owen’s big charity banquet was busy as everyone prepared. Zed and Rylan had even more closed-door meetings than ever. This time, Daniel finally joined them. I heard them arguing in the basement, mentioning me and something about protection. But I soon couldn't hear them. 


Later, I saw Oscar go to Rylan's room to talk to him in secret. Zed was on the phone, and even Daniel went out. I guessed he went to Buckle. But there wasn’t a game recently, so it roused my suspicion more. 


I took off the whole banquet day because I wanted to look nice for my guys. I bought some self-care items to treat myself. I spent the day in my room, pampering myself. First, I wore a face mask and painted my fingernails and toenails red. Since Daniel accepted the color more because of his soccer game, I thought it would be safe. Also, Zed always wore his sunglasses anyway, so my choice of color wouldn’t hurt his eyes.
