Chapter 34 : Facing Caine

*Amaya*

The smell hit me before anything else did. I’d recognize it anywhere, the faint scent of primrose and lilac. And then it was the familiar sensation of nostalgic comfort. I didn’t dare open my eyes yet but I automatically ran my fingers along the silk bedspread underneath me. There was no room for doubt.

I slowly opened my eyes and, just as I pieced together, I was back in my old room at my father’s castle.

He must’ve hit me hard over my head because it was a two-day ride from Whiteburn Mountain. I could feel my blood boiling over. I was livid. Was he always this shitty? Did I spend my entire life being blind to the bullshit?

I tried to sit up but was unable to move my arms or my legs. Something inside of me snapped. This was the limit of my tolerance to Caine’s villainy and hypocrisy. He has waged a war based on the lie that Wren kidnapped me while all along, he was the one who kidnapped me.
