“Cheers!” Louise yells, lifting her glass to bump against Mia’s.
The two sit at the bar after work after Louise demanded that they go out to celebrate the news of Mia’s pay rise. Mia can’t deny it feels good to have confirmation that she’s at least doing something right.
Mia laughs, putting her glass back down, and shaking her head.
“It’s really not that big of a deal.”
Louise waves her off.
“You got a raise, not to mention that award they gave you for your general…Mia-ness. You’re killing it, girl!” She leans in conspiratorially. “Not to mention, you’re letting out the inner loose woman I always knew you had in you. Hooking up with Donovan on the first date, I’m so proud of you.”
Mia flushes. She’s been too embarrassed to admit that she actually ended up hooking up with Elon instead that night, but Louise said she could never mistake a “just got laid” walk, so she wouldn’t let the subject die.
