Chapter 37 : The New Normal

Mia and Elon fall back into sync quicker than either of them expects. They have a long conversation about the level of professionalism that they have to adhere to while at work, but for the most part, that talk goes right out the window the second they walk through the doors.

It feels…different this time. While Mia knows that Elon is still her boss and things still have to remain a secret for both of their benefits, there’s something in Mia herself that’s changed. While Elon has been great at assuring Mia’s feelings, Mia isn’t the same person she was when they first started.

She wasted so much time worrying that she wasn’t good enough for Elon, and for what? The only thing that mindset ever gave her has been anxiety and an inferiority complex. It definitely helps that Mia is back in a job that she excels in with a friend like Louise to confide in about her feelings.
