Chapter 19: Playing Tricks with the Gods (Revised)

"I actually have a somewhat special perception about certain things," Liang En said, looking at the worried faces of the Murphy father and son. His words held a half-truth, half-deceptive quality. "Especially when it comes to things that are related to oneself, this feeling becomes particularly strong."

"According to the current popular saying, my sixth sense is quite strong. That's why I can sense that we will definitely turn bad luck into good and won't be harmed by those troubles," he continued.

Liang En's reason for saying this was simple – during their upcoming escape, Old Murphy's state would be crucial, and he needed to find ways to stabilize it.

As for the solution, it was even simpler. After all, the "golden finger" he possessed now contained various supernatural powers, and he was planning to use one of them.

Unlike in China, Western culture had a high tolerance for mystical matters, and many people believed in such things. For instance, in Europe, there were many individuals who claimed to possess prophetic abilities or other special powers. They not only openly engaged in these activities but also appeared on television and in newspapers, becoming celebrities. This "sixth sense" Liang En spoke of was one of the more common abilities.

"If that's the case, then we should pray that your sixth sense is accurate," Pierce's spirits lifted as he responded to Liang En's words. "We only have two trucks ahead of us now, and the time for us few is limited."

While he spoke, Old Pierce, gripping the steering wheel, nodded in agreement. While the Murphy father and son might be skeptical of what Liang En was saying, they still held a certain degree of trust.

This trust stemmed partly from the fact that in Europe, especially in places like Ireland, there was a stronger belief in such matters. So, they didn't find it strange that Liang En claimed to have expertise in this area.

On the other hand, China's image in the eyes of Westerners often intertwined with antiquity and mystery. As a result, being of Chinese descent, Liang En seemed more plausible to the Murphy father and son in having a stronger sixth sense than the average person.

Soon, the Murphy father and son began to clasp their crosses and started praying, seeking divine intervention to overcome the impending disaster. Meanwhile, they occasionally glanced at Liang En.

In this situation, Liang En felt that sitting as he was seemed out of sync with the atmosphere in the compartment. So, after a moment of thought, he sat up with a serious expression, his hands moving in a series of peculiar gestures, and he muttered words under his breath.

From the perspective of those who were completely unfamiliar with these matters, Liang En seemed dignified, uttering mysterious incantations that they couldn't understand, making him appear like a skilled practitioner.

In reality, if you were to get close, you would find that he was actually muttering: "Great Vajra Dragon, World-Honored Ksitigarbha, the wisdom of all Buddhas... Wait, what's the next line? Oh well, let's not bother about it. Let's repeat it again, Great Vajra Dragon..."

However, when these words reached the ears of the Murphy father and son, who didn't comprehend Chinese at all, Liang En's image instantly became much more imposing.

They felt that the prayer sounded full of Eastern mystique, and hearing the rhythmic and melodic language, the spirits of Pierce and his son relaxed considerably.

"Excuse me, is this gentleman performing..." Just as they were passing through the toll booth, the young woman with golden short hair inside the booth curiously pointed at Liang En and inquired.

"This is a ritual from a certain Eastern religion," Old Pierce solemnly explained to the toll booth attendant. "So..."

"I understand," the toll booth attendant immediately averted their gaze from Liang En, then briefly checked the automatic recorder on the truck to ensure it was functioning properly.

Just as the vehicle left the toll booth, Liang En formed a gesture with his hands in front of his chest and pointed towards the two pickups parked in the rest area. He uttered, "Supreme Old Lord, prompt as an imperial decree."

As for why he chose to chant a Taoist spell at this moment, the reason was simple: he didn't know how to pronounce the Buddhist spells in this context.

Of course, these actions were merely for show, designed to create an illusion. After all, the Murphy father and son were still present in the vehicle, so certain audiovisual effects were necessary to bolster their beliefs. The real ace up his sleeve was activating the skill from the card "Kazan Copper Pot (SR)" after reciting these words, initiating Solak's 62nd Battalion's synchronized volley attack, usable once per month.

Upon activating this skill, the light on the "Kazan Copper Pot (SR)" card dimmed considerably. Simultaneously, the text describing the skill on the card transitioned from silver to a muted gray. An image of an hourglass suddenly appeared beside it, with sand perpetually flowing downward.

Subsequently, a palm-sized, white stone gate with orange accents materialized in the void. Minute-sized soldiers poured out from the gate. However, these details were only visible to Liang En.

These soldiers wore standard chainmail and helmet-style headgear, totaling 31 individuals. Each one wielded a composite bow. Unlike normal humans, they appeared more like shadowy human figures with blank faces, only featuring a pair of eyes emitting blue light.

As these soldiers emerged, Liang En grasped how to execute this attack. Contrary to his initial assumption, he could only designate one target for the synchronized volley instead of adding multiple targets.

"If that's the case—" Liang En's brain raced as he turned and shouted to Old Pierce, "Accelerate now, I need those two vehicles to start moving."

"No problem." Old Pierce abruptly stepped on the accelerator. Although he wasn't certain if Liang En's actions held any merit, he knew that the faster they drove in this situation, the greater their chances of escaping the pursuers.

"Best of luck!" The voice of the Slovenian man came through the intercom. Once on the highway, the group of Slovenians followed the prearranged plan, veering south while Liang En's group continued westward.

Strangely, the two pickups abandoned the Slovenian group and instead latched onto Liang En's group.

"Probably because our vehicle seems to be carrying more, attracting their attention," Old Pierce said as he observed the two pickups gradually catching up in the rearview mirror.

"Among the guests who attended the auction earlier, there were several who had loitered near our warehouse entrance. Some were merely curious, but others were likely part of the new troublemakers' informants."

"While we had crates and our vigilance at the time made it difficult for them to ascertain what we obtained, it's quite evident that we loaded up a lot of items onto the trucks."

"Once we're a few kilometers further ahead and out of the urban area, they will most likely resort to ramming, damaging tires, or even attacking the driver's cabin to force us to stop."

"This could potentially get deadly." Pierce's face showed a mixture of fear as he heard his father's words. "How can they dare?"

"Why wouldn't they dare?" Old Pierce replied. "Remember, these individuals belong to an extremist group, not just ordinary robbers. Once they get high on some psychotropic substances, there's no telling what atrocities they might commit."

"So, in a while, I'll attempt to ram them with my vehicle. Of course, I also hope that the spell you cast earlier, Laurence, proves effective."

Ten minutes later, the car left the urban area, and the number of vehicles on the road diminished considerably.

Observing this, the two pickups behind quickly formed a convoy and began to move alongside Liang En's truck from the left side, apparently intending to position themselves parallel to the truck's cabin to intimidate them into stopping.
