character creation

the next thing Lucas saw was the world around him going dark as he was soon arrived in what looked like a temple with more than a dozen statues made of an unknown metal that had a holy atmosphere around it.

Lucas stared at the temple in awe as he saw a female ethereal being with translucent wings slowly fly toward him.

[ hello otherworlder, welcome to the paradise of the deities. I am the tutorial spirit, Aria. I will introduce the races that you can choose]

there were four races to choose from namely the humans, elves, orcs, beastmen, and spirits. All of the races had their own racial specialty.

with humans being able to learn skills faster and gain 15% favorability with all npc's.

elves were a race that is naturally close to the elements so their race specialty increases duration, damage, and mana cost of their magic by 15%.

orcs were a race that were born warriors with superhuman strength with the cost of being a bit dull, their racial specialty being their strength stat is increased by a whopping 30% while their intelligence stat and all magic effects were decreased by 20%.

the beastmen didn't have an increase or decrease in magic, instead their racial specialty increased their physical damage and sense stat by 10%.

lastly the spirit race was slightly different with their racial specialty increasing the damage and duration of their spirit magic by 20%.(spirit magic is different from regular magic)

Lucas already had the idea of fighting in the front lines undefeated so he gave up on the elf and spirit race as they would have to focus on the intelligence stat to increase the effectiveness of their magic making their defense weaker. he also ruled out the orc race as even though they had the biggest stat increase that would definitely work wonders later in the game, he couldn't allow himself to have the magic he would use be weakened to such a degree. being left with only the two options of the human and beastmen race he chose the human race for two reasons.

one, he still felt some sentiment for the race he's been his whole life.

two, he was hoping that the increase in favorability with the npc's would help him get better quests allowing him to get stronger faster.

As he picked the human race the ethereal spirit started speaking once again.

[ next I will be introducing the beginner occupations. please the beginner occupation that you feel suits you the most.]

all of the beginner occupations can be put into their own categories made that were made by players to form more optimal teams. namely tank, warrior, healer and mage.

tank: shield warrior, paladin and berserker.

warrior: swordsman, assassin, weapon specialist, and ranger.

healer: cleric, shaman, and druid.

mage: elementalist, summoner, scholar and spiritmancer.

all of the categories had their own purpose with tanks being able to receive damage and hold the aggro of the enemy while the warriors and mages finished them off. healers would heal the tanks and the warriors to ensure they don't die in the middle of the battle.

though some of the beginner occupations are straight forward some are special. such as the weapon specialist being able to use all weapons but not getting a bonus while using weapons unlike the swordsman who gets a 5% increase in damage when using a sword.

the scholar has the special ability to learn all magic except spirit magic unless they're a spirit but they also learn skills 20% slower.(if a human chooses the scholar occupation then with their racial specialty they would only learn skills 10% slower.)

spiritmancers are special in the way that they are similar to summoners but instead of summoning monsters they can summon the righteous souls of the dead that can give them temporary skills and certain buffs. they can also cast neutral spells that don't have any elements and don't run on mana but instead spirit power.(only the spirit race can become a spiritmancer as other races can use spirit power without external help or unless they reach the deity realm which has never before been reached by a mortal)

the moment Lucas saw the options between the occupations his eyes lit up as he saw his dream occupation so easily accessible to him. In the next moment he immediately chose the weapon specialist occupation as he was planning on using weapons that allowed some distance like the spear and bow instead of a weapon like the sword that has a shorter range.

[ next you will be given the opportunity to draw a talent that will assist you on your journey through the world of paradise.]

after the spirit finished speaking a wheel appeared in front of Lucas. the wheel had multiple different colors on it corresponding to the different levels of talent.
