39. Confessions in the Car

"Stop acting foolish in public," Shaga whispered with emphasis before spooning a mouthful of creamy cake into his mouth.

Shaga nudged Adrian's leg under the table, ignoring the playful grin that crept onto his lips. "This is your restaurant now, isn't it?"

Nevertheless, Shaga regretted saying that to Adrian. He always seemed to know how to test his patience. "I regret saying that to you."

"Shaga, don't be like that."

"I should've said it to Buzzcut," Shaga blurted out.

Just a second after he said that, Adrian's body leaned in his direction, his elbow pressed to the table, and their noses were almost touching. "Just us. You and me."

Shaga instinctively pulled back and glanced from the corner of his eye, making sure nobody was watching them. He sipped his drink and whispered, "This is a public place."

"Let people know that you're mine."
