56. The Breaking Point

It felt impossible to keep pretending any longer, even in front of Adrian. Shaga knew he should have set aside his ego and asked about what Adrian was hiding, but Shaga was a coward, afraid of rejection when Adrian didn't want to share his troubling thoughts.

"Will you tell me?" Shaga finally asked after realizing that time was passing, and several minutes had already slipped by. Shaga needed some sleep at least, so that Sebastian wouldn't worry about him in the morning, seeing Shaga's tired face.

With Adrian remaining silent, it was enough for Shaga to understand that Adrian didn't want to share anything about what was bothering him.

"You don't even answer. So, why are we even talking now? You deal with your stuff, and I'll deal with mine." It hurt to say that, especially when Shaga saw the expression on Adrian's face.

"We're married, and we have Sebastian."
