JUST FRIENDS

I laid with my head placed on Dax's chest as we both tried to catch our breath. I can't believe I just had sex with Dax. I was still trying to register everything in my brain.

"I need to head back to the party or Eric will notice I have been gone for too long" I told Dax before heading to the bathroom to clean myself up.

When I came out I was surprised to find Dax still on the bed naked.

"Aren't you going to dress up?"

"I don't want you to go"

"I have to, this party is supposed to be my party so I need to go, now dress up"

"Fine" we both dressed up and got ready to go but Dax drawed me back inside when I tried leaving.

"What, we need to go or we will both be caught in the act"

"Am not asking you to go another around with me"

"Good because am so sore down there"

"Is your first time, you are supposed to be sore so let me massage your legs for you"

"But I need to go out there"

"Thirty more minutes, just give me thirty minutes"

"Twenty minutes and we are done"

"Deal"

I can't believe I just agreed to this but I must confess I love his hands going up and down my leg, it feels so good. I stared at him, he was so focused that he didn't notice me staring at him. I wanted to know more about him especially how his mother left or why she left.

I remembered Eric's warning but I ignored it. Dax and I are already getting close he should be able to open up to me.

"Dax"

"Yes" he said looking up at me.

"Can you tell me about your mother?" Immediately I said that he froze at the spot and the little smile on his face disappeared.

"I don't talk about her"

"But you can tell me, am a good listener"

"Brianna just dropped it"

"Why are you cutting me off?"

"Am not just don't mention my mum around me ever again"

"Oh really let me guess am not trust worthy enough for you to open up"

"Brianna just stop!!" I was surprised with how hard his voice came. I knew I crossed the line. But did I do anything wrong in wanting to know more about him?

He is so unbelievable, I guess am the one reading too much meaning into what happened between us. Am sure to him it was just a sex, the one he can get at anytime.

I felt hurt, I need to get away from this room. Away from him. I got up and wore my heels and grabbed my hand bag ready to go.

"Where are you going?"

"Who cares as long as it is away from you"

"Am sorry for yelling at you but you should have dropped it when I said you should"

"Let me ask you something Dax, what are we? You and I what are we going to call our relationship"

"We are friends"

I will be lying to myself if I say his words didn't hurt me, friends? I guess I read it wrong.

"Friends, are we really friends because friends don't know how each other taste. Friends don't fuck each other"

"Why are you sounding like I forced myself on you, it was both our decision"

"You are right, I don't regret having sex today I just regret losing my virginity to a jerk like you" I slammed the door in anger as I left.

I need a drink, I can't wait for this party to be over. Ones again Dax has succeeded in turning my birthday into something else.

But I know one thing for sure, this is a birthday to remember.

Eric's POV

"What is wrong with you?" I asked as I pushed her off.

"Can't you see that I want you back Eric, I haven't been myself since our breakup"

"I don't care, I don't want this relationship anymore can't you understand that and leave me alone" I walked past her, I don't want to be anywhere close to her.

I heard her calling for me but I ignored her. I wonder where Gia is. I looked around the house but couldn't find her. Maybe she is in the bathroom, I need to be around someone so that Mary will leave me alone.

I waited for her for another ten minutes but there was no sign of her. I decided to look outside and see if she stepped out for a bit.

I found her in the garden, she was reading a book. Where did she get that? Am guessing she might have find her way into Dax's library.

"What are you reading?"

"Oh, you are here" she said looking surprise to see me.

"Yeah, where did you get that?" I said referring to the book she was holding.

"I kind of stole it from the library upstairs, hope Dax won't mind?"

"Am sure he won't is not like you are going to eat the book"

"Yeah, I will just return it tomorrow or next"

"What's the title?"

"Love conquers all"

"Hmm, do you really believe that love conquers all?"

"I don't know, maybe it does"

"So tell me about the story"

I was so glad when she said it was okay for us to be good friends. After the night of her confession I kept feeling bad for how I treated her and I called her over to apologise.

"I haven't even gone far into the story, maybe later. So how did your conversation with Mary went, are you guys an item again?"

"Not a chance, we are over. I have moved on and I hope she do the same"

"If you still want to date her you can go ahead and accept her back. Am fine with it, she already apologized"

"Stop blaming yourself for our breakup, I was going to do it anyways"

"What?"

"I was planning on ending things with her before I head out for college"

"May I ask why?"

"I don't know, I guess my feelings for her wasn't that strong"

"Oh"

I thought I saw her shiver, I took off suit jacket and covered her shoulders.

"Let's go inside, is cold out here" I led her back inside and met Mary waiting for me at the door. I had nothing to say to her so I pretended I didn't see her and walked pass her.

Brianna's POV

Having the wind on my face felt nice, it helped me cleared a lot of things out of my mind. I haven't seen Gia since we got here. My phone ranged and I picked it up immediately I saw the caller.

"Hey mum, how is the night going for you?"

"Fine sweetie, how is your birthday going, are you having fun?"

"Yes, it has been going fine so far"

"Don't stay out in the cold and remember to stay close to your brother"

"Okay mum"

"Remember end the party ones is ten so everyone can go home, am sure Dax can provide a shelter for you three for the night"

"Yeah, am sure he can, so stop worrying and go back to sleep"

"I wish I could, but your father is not yet back"

"Dad is not yet back?"

"Yes but I called him and he said they were still very much busy at the office"

"That means he won't be coming home tonight"

"Yeah but he is avoiding saying that to me"

"Do you need my company, I will close the party and come back to you immediately"

"Really, you will do that for me?"

"Yes anything for the best mother in the world" I said tearing up, I wanted to tell her what happened between Dax and I but am not sure what her reaction will be. I don't want her to be disappointed in me.

"Sweetie is something wrong, you are sounding kind of off"

"No mum everything is fine I just want you to hug me"

"Really, what happened to am no longer a child?"

"I want to be a child tonight"

"Okay when you get back I will give you a hug and you will tell me what is bothering you, promise?"

"Fine I promise I will be just like am open book"

"That's good, let's talk when you get back okay"

"Okay mum, bye"

Ones I ended the call I decided to call Gia and know her way about. I was still waiting for her to pick up when I felt a movement around me.

But it was already too late, the person covered my mouth before I could scream.

"Hello, Brianna"

"Brianna where are you?" I heard Gia said before my phone fell from my hand. I was struggling with the person covering my mouth and nose but I couldn't fight him off.

I became dizzy and weak, I wanted to scream for help but I couldn't. He carried me to a van and placed me at the back seat before he took off.

I couldn't see who he was since he was wearing a mask, but I think I could guess who he was.
