Chapter 27: Helplessness

The phone call came again from Aaron Gilbert. The sharp, loud sound was like a knife plunging into Helen Blair's heart. The tightly stretched string in her heart snapped in an instant.

Helen's head roared, and she could no longer control her emotions.

She snatched the phone out of Aaron's hand like lightning and smashed it to the ground with all her strength!

The ringing stopped abruptly, and Aaron looked at her in shock!

Since her rebirth, Helen had been tormented by hatred and had been constantly scheming. Her nerves had been tense, especially during this period as Aaron's time of death approached. She had been almost unable to sleep in fear! Now, without Uncle Aaron's trust and seemingly unable to stop him, her emotions were on the verge of breaking down.

It takes caring about someone deeply to have such a sense of loss and an almost uncontrollable emotion.
