Chapter 41: Forced Kiss

The Zhao family's backyard garden was planted with many tall trees, creating a shady area where Helen Blair was sitting. The trees blocked out the sun, making the surroundings dark. Only a few scattered rays of moonlight and starlight penetrated through the gaps between the trees.

The sounds from the banquet hall seemed far away. The breeze blew, causing the leaves to rustle, and the unidentified insects and birds chirped melodiously. All these sounds melded together, forming a harmonious symphony that cleansed the soul.

Helen sat on a bench, admiring the enchanting night scene, and listened to the various sounds, enjoying the rare tranquility.

Her agitation gradually subsided, her body felt relaxed. She closed her eyes, leaned her head against the back of the bench, feeling as though she was surrounded by pristine mountains and waters, her heart calm as still water, and her mind at ease like the breeze.
