Another dignified-looking woman came over, whispered a few words of consolation to Mrs. Howard. Together with James Anderson, they helped Mrs. Howard to sit down.
Ethan Howard walked over to Helen Blair, lowered his head, and softly said, "Thank you for coming."
"May you find peace in your sorrow." Helen responded.
Ethan raised his head and swept around. There were tears gleaming in his eyes, "Usually the Howard family is teeming with visitors, basking in glory. But now..." He turned his head and wiped away a tear, "So this is what they mean by 'one's tea gets cold after they leave'. The world is indeed so ruthless."
He looked towards her, his expression regretful and ashamed, "Mom said you are different, and indeed you are, Helen...I'm sorry."
Helen Blair laughed softly, "It's okay, I have long stopped caring."
Ethan lowered his head, appearing rather upset.
When leaving, Mrs. Howard came to see her off. By now, she had calmed down, albeit still looking crestfallen.
