Auntie Eva's funeral took place two days later.

She was buried in a traditional earth burial, on the hillside behind her house.

Everyone from the village attended her funeral.

Julie Williams knelt in front of Auntie Eva's grave, crying and blaming herself. "It's my fault. I shouldn't have slept. I should have looked after her. It's my fault."

Father and Mother Stewart wept with grief, while the villagers sighed and comforted them in soft voices.

Helen Blair knelt beside Julie Williams, not crying, not annoyed, as if she didn't exist.

"It's not your fault, it's destiny... it's destiny... an irresistible destiny..." She suddenly spoke.

Her voice was so soft, as if it would be carried away by the wind.

Julie turned around, hugged Helen, and cried out loud, "Helen, please cry too. You look so scary like this. Just cry if you're sad."
