Grandma Anderson saw James staring blankly at the sweet dumplings in his bowl, and laughed, "Silly boy, what are you dazing at? Eat it while it's hot."
James stirred the sweet dumplings with a spoon, scooping one up but then putting it down. He put down the spoon and turned to Grandma Anderson, "Grandma, can you help persuade Mom for me?"
Grandma Anderson looked at him for a moment before saying, "James, since you love Helen so much, Grandma will like her too. I sympathize with her experiences, but to us, you are the most important, and our first priority is you."
"If considering me, Mom shouldn't be against it. I won't like any other girl except Helen," James said quietly.
"If you really think that way, I'll try to persuade your mom," Grandma Anderson sighed, "Although your grandfather's words aren't wrong, how can we bear to see your life filled with twists and turns? I can understand your mom's feelings…"
"Wife, wife!" The voice of James's grandfather came from inside.
