Chapter 241: Like a Flash in the Pan

After dinner, Oliver Hoffman drove Helen Blair home.

By the time they returned to Blair's Residence, the sky was entirely dark. A new crescent moon hung in the velvety black sky, its light faint and the evening breeze was cool.

Helen thanked him and got out of the car. Oliver waved to her from his window and drove away.

Helen waited until Oliver's car disappeared from view before turning around and walking towards the entrance. The gatekeeper had already opened the gates, welcoming her home.

Just as she was about to enter, she heard a familiar voice from behind, "Helen…" His voice was deep, low, tinged with sadness, rippling through the silent night like water.

At the sound, Helen's heart fluttered, she stopping in her tracks and slowly turned around.

A small car was parked opposite the gate, and a tall figure stood in front of it. Although his features were not discernible in the darkness, how could Helen not recognize him?
