Chapter 271: Escaping Danger

Helen Blair opened her eyes, but because they had been covered for too long, she couldn't see clearly at first. Through the haze, she saw that the room was dimly lit with two men standing in front of her. One of them, a masked man, was holding a flashlight while the other stood behind him. Smelling a hint of food, she figured that they must have brought them something to eat.

Helen blinked several times to clear her vision.

Looking at the men in front of her, she immediately asked, "What about the others who were with me? What have you done to them? And the person you shot at the end - how is he?"

The masked man remained silent, ignoring her as if he didn't hear anything, and placed the food in front of her. The other masked man walked towards Reuben Carter. Following his gaze, she saw Reuben lying curled up on the floor, shivering even more since the criminals entered.
