She looked at him, eyes endlessly dark, depthless and obscure. It seemed as if a bewitching flame flickered in their depths, brightening and dimming intermittently, heating his heart until it all but melted.
"Helen..." He wanted to tell her, to express just how deeply he loved her. But as the words rose to his lips, he found that none could come out. No speech could adequately express his feelings. With a sigh, he held her close.
Feeling her actual presence in his arms, he finally understood the meaning of pure happiness.
He smiled a small, bittersweet smile.
Helen Blair rested in his arms, unable to calm her mind.
The exhilaration and pleasure she'd just experienced were undeniable, but now confusion and anxiety were equally apparent.
What was happening to her?
Struggling to collect herself, she said softly, "Let's go out now."
"Okay." In the darkness, his soft chuckle made her blush bashfully.
